  • Act as the primary Armis SME for laboratory environments; configure, tune, and maintain Armis policies, alerts, and device classifications
  • Maintain accurate inventory of lab/OT/IoT devices and identify vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and unsupported devices; collaborate on risk mitigation and remediation
  • Define and maintain security policies and SOPs for lab environments; implement vulnerability management and incident response processes aligned with ISO 27001, NIST, and GxP standards
  • Configure and manage alerts for anomalies and threats; investigate and triage incidents using Armis and related tools; support containment and recovery; prepare reports on risk posture, vulnerabilities, and trends

Job description

This is a remote position.

We are seeking an experienced Armis Security Specialist to support and optimize security across laboratory environments, with a strong focus on OT/IoT devices and lab instrumentation.

This role is critical in enhancing visibility, risk management, and incident response capabilities using the Armis platform, while ensuring minimal disruption to scientific workflows. You will collaborate closely with R&D teams, IT, and cybersecurity stakeholders in a highly regulated environment.


Key Responsibilities

Armis Platform Operations

  • Act as the primary Armis SME for laboratory environments
  • Configure, tune, and maintain Armis policies, alerts, and device classifications
  • Improve risk scoring models and detection logic to reduce false positives
  • Support rollout of new Armis features and integrations with security tools

Asset Visibility & Risk Identification

  • Maintain accurate inventory of lab/OT/IoT devices
  • Identify vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and unsupported devices
  • Collaborate on risk mitigation and remediation strategies

Policies, Procedures & Controls

  • Define and maintain security policies and SOPs for lab environments
  • Implement vulnerability management and incident response processes
  • Ensure alignment with ISO 27001, NIST, and GxP standards

Monitoring & Incident Response

  • Configure and manage alerts for anomalies and threats
  • Investigate and triage incidents using Armis and related tools
  • Support incident response activities, including containment and recovery
  • Prepare reports on risk posture, vulnerabilities, and trends

Collaboration & Training

  • Work closely with scientists and lab teams to align security with workflows
  • Deliver training and awareness sessions on secure usage of lab devices
  • Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders


Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with Armis or similar OT/IoT security platforms
  • 2–4+ years in cybersecurity, network security, or OT/IoT security
  • Strong understanding of:
    • TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching
    • Firewalls, NAC, and network segmentation
    • Asset discovery, anomaly detection, and risk scoring
  • Experience creating security procedures, runbooks, or SOPs
  • Strong communication skills and stakeholder management

Nice to Have

  • Experience in pharma / biotech / laboratory environments
  • Understanding of GxP and validated systems
  • Exposure to:
    • SIEM tools
    • Vulnerability management platforms
    • CMDB / asset management tools
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, GSEC, GICSP, CISSP, Armis)
