Job description

This is a remote position.


We are looking for a Shopware Developer to support the development and maintenance of growing e-commerce platforms operating across the DACH region. The company specializes in tech and electronics e-commerce, working in a lean and fast-moving environment with a strong focus on usability, customer experience, and pragmatic problem-solving.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on development, working independently, and contributing directly to the growth and improvement of live online shops. You will work closely with the business side and take ownership of technical improvements, feature development, and platform stability.
Work setup: Fully Remote
Type: Freelance (full-time workload, approx. 160 hours/month)
Project Duration: Long-term


Your Duties:

As a Shopware Developer, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintain and improve the existing Shopware-based e-commerce platform
  • Work with plugins (installation, configuration, debugging, customization)
  • Implement new features and technical adjustments
  • Identify and resolve bugs, issues, and performance bottlenecks
  • Optimize UX and conversion-related flows
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Work within an existing codebase and continuously improve system quality
  • Collaborate directly with business stakeholders in a remote setup



Requirements


  • 1–4 years of experience with Shopware or similar e-commerce systems
  • Solid understanding of PHP, Symfony basics, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience working with plugins and modifying existing systems
  • Ability to debug, troubleshoot, and work within existing architectures
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
  • Pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset
  • English language Upper intermediate (B2) is a must.


Nice to have:

  • Experience with APIs (payment providers, shipping systems, ERP integrations, etc.
  • Experience with e-commerce performance optimization
  • Basic understanding of hosting/server environments
  • German language skills
