Job Role: Senior Estimator

Compensation range: $2,000 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: Based in Melbourne, construction company focused on commercial concrete structures (multi-storey builds)

Role Overview: We’re looking for a detail-oriented Senior estimator to handle takeoffs, quantification, and tender package preparation. This role is not heavily focused on pricing, as internal pricing data is already established. Instead, the priority is on delivering accurate measurements and maintaining consistency across outputs.

This position is intended as a long-term hire who can integrate seamlessly into the team and manage a steady volume of work.

Experience with PlanSwift is preferred, though candidates familiar with similar tools are also encouraged to apply. While Australian experience is a plus, it is not required.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Prepare detailed takeoffs, quantification, and tender packages
• Ensure accuracy and consistency across all estimates and deliverables
• Collaborate with internal teams to align outputs with existing pricing data
• Manage a high volume of work while maintaining quality standards
• Contribute to improving processes and standardization of estimating outputs

Requirements

• Proven experience in takeoffs, quantification, and tender preparation
• Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver consistent outputs
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects efficiently
• Familiarity with PlanSwift or similar estimating software
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Willingness to integrate into a long-term, collaborative team environment

Nice to Have

• Experience working on Australian construction projects
• Exposure to high-volume estimating environments
• Background in transitioning from subcontract to in-house estimating models
• Process improvement or standardization experience
