Roles & Responsibilities

  • BSc/BE degree in Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Engineering or equivalent degree/experience
  • 3-5 years of IT administration experience
  • Experience with Windows Server and Linux operating systems, Active Directory (maintenance, group policy, permissions) and VMware/vCenter
  • Experience using a ticketing tool (ManageEngine ServiceDesk is a plus) and familiarity with system monitoring/administration tools (VCenter, ADUC, storage management tools)

Requirements:

  • Support Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, Office 365, VMware, network and storage infrastructure; manage ticket lifecycle from creation to resolution
  • Ticket management with end-to-end ownership; monitor the ticket queue and work to improve SLAs and resolution times
  • Implement change requests (Tech, Standard/Common and Emergency) and create/modify virtual machines, groups, and user accounts
  • Monitor access control to internal systems and remediate security vulnerabilities; collaborate with other Infrastructure teams

Job description

Overview:

Global Enterprise Organization seeking fulltime Infrastructure Administrator in Bangalore, India. The Administrator is responsible for administering the infrastructure, handling ticket management, and maintaining the operations of the technical infrastructure of the organization. 

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for supporting the company’s Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, Office 365, VMware virtual environment, Network and Storage infrastructure.
  • Ticket management and end to end ownership of tickets
  • Work closely with the other Infrastructure teams to improve SLAs, ticket resolution times, and gain knowledge of the company’s systems
  • Handle daily support for all areas of Infrastructure.
  • Change request implementation for Tech, Standard\Common and Emergency changes
  • Creation of new virtual machines, groups, user accounts
  • Monitor and handle access control to internal systems
  • Remediating security vulnerabilities and other findings as necessary 
  • Monitor the ticket queue to ensure SLAs are met
  • Assist as necessary with any other assigned duties that may arise 
Qualifications:
  • BSc/ B.E degree in Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Engineering or equivalent degree/experience.
  • 3-5 years of IT administration
  • Demonstrated understanding of complex problem-solving techniques dealing with infrastructure support.
  • Experience with some of the following areas / concepts: 
    • Windows Server and Linux operating systems 
    • Active Directory (maintenance, group policy, permissions) 
    • VM server creation
    • Enterprise storage systems 
    • Physical server class hardware
    • Data center operations 
  • Experience using a ticketing tool. ManageEngine ServiceDesk experience is a plus.
  • System monitoring and administration tool sets - VCenter, ADUC, storage management tools, etc. 
  • An understanding of networking and administration
  • Understanding of DNS, DHCP and Subnetting
  • Understanding of Switching and routing, Firewall, Internal / External SSL Certification
  • Used some security tools and software – anti-virus, anti-malware, patch management
  • Creating\deleting accounts in Microsoft Office 365
  • Some experience with Active Directory and/or Azure Active Directory and Group policy

 

Other Skills

  • Industry recognized certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, etc) highly desirable 
  • Experience with BitDefender antivirus and ManageEngine Patch manager 
  • Hands on experience with automation suites (vRealize, Ansible, BMC, etc) 
  • Reasonable level of experience with automation and/or scripting
  • A strong desire to make a difference.
  • Able to set objectives, meet deadlines and work under pressure in a fast moving business
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Has broad perspective and understanding of business and trends in the market place; is current on business and industry trends.
  • Has a holistic approach to business; understands his/her own area of expertise and how it applies to the good of the group/business.
