Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of EHS experience, ideally in construction, transportation, or renewable energy industries.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other regulatory requirements; demonstrated ability to conduct risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
  • Experience leading, training, and mentoring safety professionals; proficiency in EHS software systems (e.g., EHS Insights); excellent communication, coaching, and leadership skills; willingness to travel as required.

Requirements:

  • Execute the EHS vision and strategy; facilitate the rollout and enforcement of EHS policies and programs across project sites; coach and mentor site safety professionals to strengthen their skills.
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, incident investigations, site audits, and event analyses; provide on-call EHS support and guidance; identify improvement opportunities.
  • Serve as SME for assigned EHS disciplines; lead, train, and evaluate site safety professionals and contractor personnel; perform EHS software application tasks and provide system support.
  • Promote and drive excellence in safety culture across all business units; provide EHS representation at project kickoff meetings and improvement initiatives; travel to job sites as required.

Description

The Regional EHS Manager is responsible for executing the vision and strategy set forth by leadership and ensuring consistent implementation of environmental, health, and safety policies across project sites. This role provides subject matter expertise, coaching, and support to site safety professionals (SSPs), site managers, and project teams, while fostering a strong safety culture throughout the organization.


Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  1. Execute the vision and strategy.
  2. Facilitate the execution of all applicable EHS policies and programs on project sites.
  3. Coach and mentor site safety professionals to strengthen their skills and effectiveness.
  4. Consistently meet or exceed customer expectations regarding safety performance.
  5. Promote and drive excellence in safety culture across all business units.
  6. Perform rollouts of new and revised EHS policies and programs.
  7. Provide on-call EHS support and guidance to the business as needed.
  8. Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for assigned EHS disciplines.
  9. Perform Work Instruction EHS reviews and revisions.
  10. Conduct risk assessments, reviews, and revisions.
  11. Conduct site audits and reviews to ensure compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
  12. Conduct event analyses (investigations) for high-severity or high-potential-severity incidents including injuries, illnesses, property damage, spills, and near misses.
  13. Support SSPs in their execution of event analyses.
  14. Support SSPs, Site Managers, and Project Managers through site staffing of personnel.
  15. Manage, train, and evaluate performance of assigned company and contractor SSP personnel.
  16. Provide coaching and improvement plans to assigned company and contractor personnel.
  17. Perform assigned EHS software application tasks within given permission levels (e.g., EHS Insights).
  18. Provide EHS software application support to assigned Takkion and contractor personnel.
  19. Attend and contribute to mandatory recurring and impromptu EHS meetings and conferences.

20. Participate in Operations and non-EHS meetings and conferences as required.

21. Provide EHS representation at project kick-off meetings and improvement initiatives for assigned projects.

22. Other duties as needed or assigned.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

This role requires regular time in the field and physical capability to conduct safety inspections in varied work environments.

  • Exposure to extreme weather conditions such as heat, cold, wind, and rain.
  • Frequent walking, standing, and climbing (including ladders).
  • Ability to enter confined or tight spaces for inspections.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to job sites as required.
