About the Role (your why)
The Learning and Organisational Development team at Datacom is passionate about empowering our people to grow, learn, and do their best work. As a Learning Experience Designer, you will play a pivotal role in creating engaging and impactful learning content that enhances capability, promotes continuous development, and drives business performance across the organisation. You will collaborate with the Manager – ANZ Learning and Organisational Development and a cross-functional team to design and produce modern learning resources that enable employees to succeed, stay safe, and thrive in their roles.


Please note this is a 6-month fixed term opportunity.

Our offices are based in New Zealand. We like to bring people together in person when we can, but we are mindful of the benefits of working from home for work/life balance. We therefore leave it to you and the team you join to figure out what works best!

What you’ll do
At the moment, as Learning Experience Designer you will be focused on:


• Designing and developing multimedia learning content including e-learning courses, videos, animations, infographics, and interactive learning elements.
• Applying instructional design principles to create effective, engaging, and goal-oriented learning experiences.
• Managing multiple learning projects simultaneously to ensure high-quality deliverables and timely completion.
• Communicating and promoting learning and development initiatives across the organisation.
• Conducting user testing and leveraging feedback to improve learning materials continuously.
• Staying current with emerging trends and technologies in multimedia design and e-learning.
• Actively contributing to ongoing improvement and innovation initiatives.
• Ensuring personal and team compliance with Health and Safety responsibilities in line with Datacom policy.

What you’ll bring

Required experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in corporate training and learning design.
  • Hands-on experience in e-learning design, video creation, and content curation.
  • Understanding of learning systems and LMS administration.
  • Proficiency with multimedia software and e-learning authoring tools (such as Articulate Suite).
  • Strong grasp of instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Education, IT, Human Resources, or a related discipline.

Nice to have:

  • Adult learning qualifications.
  • Professional coaching or training certifications.
  • Experience analysing learning data to measure effectiveness of programs.
