About the Role
The Senior Data Engineer plays an integral role in creating and maintaining Business Wire’s data pipelines, APIs, and services. As a member of our Engineering team, this role partners with other engineers, business analysts, and project managers to create applications for news processing, syndication, and metrics reporting systems.
What You'll Do
Collaborate with product managers, designers, infrastructure teams, and other stakeholders to develop data management strategy.
Build and maintain data pipelines that clean, transform, and aggregate data from disparate sources.
Build and maintain Tableau dashboards and custom reports.
Create and maintain technical documentation, including system design, APIs, usage guidelines, and best practices.
Identify and address performance bottlenecks across the entire application.
Identify architecture, design, and operational improvements to existing applications.
What You'll Need
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a computer-related field.
At least 5 years of Data Engineering experience.
At least 5 years of strong experience with Python, SQL, and data visualization/exploration tools.
Experience with Snowflake, Tableau, and the AWS ecosystem.
Experience with CI/CD and automation tools such as GitHub Actions, Code Pipeline, Jenkins or similar.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams.
Experience with Java EE, JavaScript, and Salesforce is a plus.

What We Offer
The base salary range for this position is $150K to $165K/year. Offered salary will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data. Business Wire reserves the right to modify this salary range at any time.
