Roles & Responsibilities

  • 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in HR/leave administration and integrated disability management in a multi-state environment, with desired NJ, NY, CA, WA experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred (Human Resources or related field)
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with Workday or similar HRIS
  • Experience in large, complex work environments; ability to interpret federal/state leave laws (FMLA, ADA, PFML) and drive process improvements, with openness to AI-enabled innovations

Requirements:

  • Administers all aspects of Ensemble's Leave and Disability program, including FMLA, ADA, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability, PTO, Workers’ Compensation, and state PFML/TDB across multiple states
  • Advises associates and managers on the interaction of leave laws with pay; partners with outside leaves and disability vendors; prioritizes requests and ensures timely, accurate, confidential handling
  • Interprets HR policies and applies them consistently with employment law and company culture in the administration of leaves
  • Drives continuous improvements to absence processes, service delivery, and technology (e.g., Workday Absence Management); supports enterprise-wide absence management initiatives

Absence Management Specialist (Temporary)

Temporary Position

**This position pays between $29.70 - $36.50 depending on experience**

The Absence Management Specialist is an important part of the HR team with a customer service focus, ensuring that leave and accommodation requests are handled in a timely, efficient, compliant, confidential and compassionate manner. The Specialist will work closely with associates and leaders to provide subject matter expertise in the complex area of absence management, including Leaves of Absence, Disability, ADA accommodations, Workers' Compensation, and Payroll.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Administers all aspects of Ensemble’s Leave and Disability program with solid knowledge of Federal and State laws/regulations related to absence management, including FMLA, ADA, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability benefits, PTO, Workers’ Compensation and State PFML/TDB. Ensemble is a national employer with associates in all States + DC
  • Advises associates and managers on the complex interaction of leave laws with pay
  • Works closely with outside leaves and disability vendors
  • Prioritizes requests and responds in a timely manner, ensuring that issues and concerns are handled accurately and respectfully protecting the confidentiality of employee medical and personal information
  • Interprets Human Resources policies and procedures, guides application consistent with employment law and company culture in the administration of leaves
  • Drives continuous improvements to absence processes, service delivery and technology via Workday and Absence Management systems

Other Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 3 - 5 years of progressively responsible experience in HR/leave administration and integrated disability management duties in a multi-state environment; experience with NJ, NY, CA, WA highly desirable
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and follow-up skills including attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint); familiarity with other data management systems such as Workday
  • Bachelors Degree, preferred area of study Human Resources
  • Experience in large complex work environment
  • Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation including AI to explore better processes and ways to alleviate friction and improve patient and client experiences
  • This is a remote position; however, candidates must be willing and able to travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require
