Job Summary

The Senior Project Manager serves as a dynamic change agent and aggressively leads business process improvements and cross functional projects. This role provides sustained improvement to critical operational processes to help management achieve strategic goals and impact financial results. This role is responsible for challenging conventional thinking, mentoring other leaders and team members, and assembling multiple teams to support tactical efforts and serving as both a role model for change and coach. The person should be able to act with the highest professionalism, exercise independent judgment and decision-making, while weighing the interests of multiple stakeholders. This role exercises significant influence without formal authority, including managing vendors, clients, and internal stakeholders to deliver projects on time, within budget, within scope, and with customer satisfaction, while also ensuring a positive experience for the project delivery team. The Senior Project Manager also helps build the PMO talent pipeline to support the growth of the organization.


Major Responsibilities/Activities

• Manage multiple complex, high-priority projects within the project portfolio, aligning project delivery with organizational objectives and priorities.

• Manage project budgets, including vendor contracts, ensuring projects deliver value within budgetary constraints.

• Build and manage detailed project plans with clear ownership and deadlines, and hold vendors, clients, and internal team members accountable for completing tasks on time.

• Manage and communicate changes to project scope and facilitate formal change requests.

• Perform risk assessment, identifying and documenting project risks early and often. Recommend and own risk mitigation plans.

• Improve enterprise level tracking of products, projects, KPIS, and resources to better forecast needs, resolve issues, and improve processes, including building reports and dashboards.

• Manage stakeholder engagement and keep all interested parties (external client, internal customer, vendors, developers, C-Suite, etc.) informed of project progress, risks, and delays.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for the PMO, implementing Agile, Waterfall, and other methodologies to improve performance and outcomes.

• Lead end-to-end vendor relationships across multiple projects, ensuring clear responsibilities, accountability, and compliance.


Other Responsibilities/Activities

• Coach and mentor junior team members and help foster their professional development. Set the standard for project management excellence by demonstrating best practices.

• Assist in developing the strategic mission and goals of the PMO, in conjunction with Product Management, Software Engineering, and Operations.

• Plan and lead refresher activities and forums for continual learning with the PMO group as well as specific departments or groups within the company as needed.

• Perform and/or provide backup assistance for the Director of Project Management.

• Continuously develop industry and leadership skills. Attend conferences and training as required to obtain new certifications and/or maintain proficiency and/or certifications related to Project Management.

• Conduct all job tasks, duties, and interactions with professionalism, respect, a positive attitude, and in accordance with company compliance policies and applicable government regulations.

• Consistently support and demonstrate the company mission and values.

• Perform other related duties as assigned, being willing and able to adapt to changes in work environment, procedures, priorities, and job responsibilities.

Requirements

 Required Education, Skills, & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (or high school diploma with 7+ years of relevant industry experience)
  • 5+ years experience as a Project Manager, with proven track record of driving measurable business improvements
  • Project Management certifications (PMP preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Experience managing complex change initiatives with multiple stakeholders
  • Proven ability to implement continuous improvement methodologies
  • Demonstrates executive presence and assertiveness, and capable of/comfortable with presenting to Executive and Senior-level leadership teams
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required with a heavy emphasis on documentation of processes and projects

Preferred Education, Skills, & Experience

  • Strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle management
  • Strong understanding of and experience with vendor management 
  • Proficient in project management software (i.e. Smartsheet, Jira, MS Project, etc.)
  • Familiarity with financial tracking and portfolio-level reporting activities

 

Pay : $80,000.00 annually, with final compensation based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and business needs. Individuals in this role are eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus plan and a comprehensive benefit package, including a retirement plan, health coverage, and paid time off.
