  • Bachelor’s degree in management, business administration, information technology, or related field with 5+ years of experience; or 11 years of related experience in lieu of degree.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance; US Citizenship.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, hardware (routers, switches, firewalls), and voice/data systems.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills; ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders and executive management; proven ability to troubleshoot complex network issues under pressure.

Requirements:

  • Lead a team of engineers and technicians responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of voice and data network infrastructures; oversee resource planning and work allocation to meet service levels.
  • Specify, agree, and apply standards for service delivery; track and monitor performance metrics, analyze reports, resolve issues; draft and maintain policies, standards, and procedures; collaborate with embedded customers and enterprise-wide teams.
  • Manage project timelines, vendor contracts, SLAs, and resource allocation; oversee installation, maintenance, and upgrades of VoIP, fiber, and wireless networks; develop network architectures and implement security measures.
  • Provide top-tier operations support, troubleshooting outages, ensuring high network availability; document technical procedures and network diagrams.

Overview:

Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking an Infrastructure Engineering Team Manager to support a major national laboratory.   

 

This role requires extensive technical knowledge, and strong leadership experience.

Responsibilities:

The Team Manager supports the Operations Manager in day-to-day management, by overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of voice and data network Infrastructures while leading a team of engineers and technicians. 

Provides resource planning and work allocation to meet agreed service levels. Specify, agree, and apply standards for service delivery. Track and monitor performance metrics, analyze reports, and resolve issues. Draft and maintain policies, standards, and procedures for service functions. Provide oversight for localized or remote areas and collaborate with embedded customers to address service needs. Support enterprise-wide teams and manage highly complex organizations and technologies. Contribute to process development and service optimization efforts.

 

Team Leadership: Hiring, mentoring, coaching, and supervising engineers and technicians.

Infrastructure Management: Overseeing installation, maintenance, and upgrades of VoIP, fiber, and wireless networks.

Project and Budget Control: Managing project timelines, vendor contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and resource allocation.

Technical Strategy: Developing network Architectures and implementing security measures.

Operations Support: Serving as top-tier support for troubleshooting, addressing outages, and ensuring high network availability.   Actively and consistently recommend and support all efforts to improve, simplify, automate, and enhance day-to-day operations and the client experience within area of responsibility.

Documentation: Creating and maintaining technical documentation, procedures, and network diagrams.

 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in management, business administration, information technology, or related field with 5+ years of experience. In lieu of degree 11 years job related experience is required.
  • Must be abe to obtain and maintan a DOE Security Clearance
  • Must be US Citizen
