Video Editor for a YouTube Channel (US-based/Remote)

We are looking for a Video Editor to support a growing YouTube channel focused on AI and educational content.

The content is primarily talking-head style, so the ideal candidate understands how to keep videos engaging through pacing, storytelling, and retention techniques, not just basic cuts.

Responsibilities:

• Edit talking-head YouTube videos with strong pacing and structure
• Improve viewer retention through:
• Smart cuts and timing
• On-screen text and visual aids
• B-roll, graphics, or relevant overlays
• Enhance videos with music, sound effects, and transitions where appropriate
• Add visual elements to support educational/AI content clarity
• Maintain consistent style and quality across all videos
• Collaborate with the team and implement feedback
• Stay updated with YouTube editing trends and formats

Requirements

• Experience editing YouTube videos (talking-head preferred)
• Strong understanding of pacing, retention, and storytelling
• Ability to make educational content engaging and easy to follow
• Proficient in editing tools (Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar)
• Detail-oriented and quality-focused

Nice-to-Have

• Understanding of YouTube analytics (retention, watch time)
• Experience editing for educational or creator-style channels
