Role Overview

The Supplier Planner analyzes the requirements of materials and components based on customer demand, then makes the purchase orders ensuring the supply in quantity, time and place of the components based on the corporate inventory model to meet the inventory and on-time delivery goal established by the company.In this dual role as both applications and design engineer this is a pivotal role within the global team to deliver our new product developments.

Work Environment: This role is flexible for remote working

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze the demand forecast and place purchase orders to the supplier based on it.
  • Confirm that the order was received and that the shipping date was accepted.
  • Coordinate the delivery of materials to the plant.
  • Verify the receipt of material in the plant and in the system.
  • Report the risks in the supply chain, as well as the impact on deliveries to establish action plans.
  • Create strategies for inventory management through delivery frequency analysis, creation of pull systems or other improvements.
  • Review and analyze excesses and obsolescence of assigned part numbers to suggest their disposition.
  • Analyze and generate the request for expedited freight.
  • Track engineering changes.
  • Generate forecasts for suppliers.
  • Keep the master report of purchased parts updated in the system.
  • Contribute to the achievement of the organization's environmental objectives through proper compliance with internal environmental procedures and policy, as well as the legal and governmental requirements that apply in environmental matters.

Critical Competencies for Success

Education and Experience:

  1. Schooling required: Engineering, Administration or related.
  2. Years of experience in... 2 to 4 years in planning, purchasing in the automotive industry
  3. Advanced English and able to hold a business conversation
