Position Summary:

The Senior Administrator, Information Technology Systems provides senior technical leadership and architectural oversight for the organization’s information systems. This role is responsible for designing, governing, and optimizing enterprise platforms including Microsoft 365SaaS ecosystemsMicrosoft Entra ID, and Microsoft Intune across Windows and macOS. The Senior Administrator develops advanced automations and scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or equivalent languages to enhance reliability, security, and operational maturity, and partners across IT and the business to ensure systems are scalable, supportable, and aligned with longterm organizational objectives.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Define and maintain enterprise architecture, governance frameworks, and long-term roadmaps for Microsoft 365 and other core systems.
  • Establish and mature ITSM and ITIL-aligned practices, including incident, problem, change, and service request management standards.
  • Provide oversight and guidance for complex or high-impact ITSM tickets, major incidents, and cross-team escalations in partnership with the Service Desk. 
  • Define escalation models, ownership boundaries, and handoff procedures between Systems Administration and the Service Desk.
  • Establish and enforce standards for identity and access management using Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Establish and enforce standards for endpoint management using Microsoft Intune for Windows and macOS.
  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced scripts and automations using PowerShell, Bash, or equivalent scripting languages to improve reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
  • Architect and oversee complex automations, workflows, and integrations that scale across the organization.
  • Lead enterprise-wide initiatives and complex, multi-system projects spanning SaaS, cloud, and infrastructure services.
  • Evaluate new technologies, platforms, vendors, and service management tooling; recommend solutions aligned with organizational strategy and risk posture.
  • Serve as the highest-level escalation point for complex technical, security, or system reliability issues.
  • Coach, mentor, and provide technical leadership to Administrator I, II and II roles, including guidance on scripting and automation best practices.
  • Partner with IT leadership, the Service Desk, and stakeholders to translate business needs into sustainable, supportable technical and service solutions. 

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 6+ years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise systems administration and architecture.
  • Deep expertise across Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Intune (Windows and macOS), automation platforms, enterprise SaaS ecosystems, and ITSM tooling.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, or equivalent languages.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL principles, service reliability, change control, and operational risk management.
  • Advanced technical certifications highly desirable.
Budgeted Hiring Range
$106,000$116,000 USD

All new hires are required to attend New Collaborator Orientation (NCO) in Salt Lake City, Utah. The College will cover travel, lodging, and other accommodations.
