JOB TITLE: ASSISTANT DISTRIBUTIVE TRADE MANAGER – GREAT PLUS
LOCATION: MALAYSIA
ROLE PURPOSE
The Assistant Distributive Trade Manager is responsible for driving distribution, sales execution, and in‑market excellence by leading distributor partners and their sales teams. This role ensures strong availability, visibility, and execution across all trade channels while delivering sustainable sales growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Distributor & Sales Team Management
Lead, coach, and supervise distributor sales teams to ensure alignment with company sales objectives
Conduct regular joint field visits and structured business reviews to drive execution excellence
Build strong distributor partnerships and ensure adherence to agreed commercial priorities
Stock Management
Monitor distributor primary and secondary stock levels to prevent stock‑outs and overstocking
Ensure healthy stock coverage, proper rotation, and freshness across all SKUs
Drive disciplined inventory management in line with company targets
Channel & Trade Execution
Manage and execute across all trade channels (General Trade, Modern Trade, and alternative channels where applicable)
Secure optimal shelf space, negotiate in‑store promotions, and ensure planogram compliance
Drive effective in‑store visibility through displays, POS materials, and secondary placements
Sales Analytics & Business Insights
Analyze sales data to identify performance gaps and growth opportunities
Track outlet‑level performance and distribution quality
Use insights to prioritize routes, outlets, SKUs, and sales actions
Investment & Trade Spend Management
Manage trade investments including promotions, discounts, and displays
Ensure trade spend is effectively utilized within budget to maximize ROI
Track promotion performance and drive continuous improvement
Sales Gap & Performance Management
Identify root causes of sales shortfalls and underperformance
Implement corrective actions such as route optimization, coverage expansion, or focused SKU pushes
Support distributors in improving productivity and sales effectiveness
Distribution & Visibility Growth
Drive expansion into new outlets and improve numeric and weighted distribution
Ensure strong product visibility through effective merchandising standards
Improve availability and execution to support sustainable sell‑out growth
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field
Minimum 2–4 years of experience in sales, distributor management, or trade execution (FMCG preferred)
Strong understanding of distributive trade, route‑to‑market, and channel dynamics
Proven ability to manage distributor relationships and frontline sales teams
Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into actionable insights
Solid negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Willingness to spend significant time in the field and engage closely with customers
