Job Description

Content Writer - Agriculture & Horticulture
Location: Remote - NZ
Independent Contractor | 3-6 months | Remote

Note: This is a 3-6-month independent contracting engagement. This is a fully remote role and open to applicants from anywhere within New Zealand. 

About the role:

NZMA is launching a new Level 2 programme in Primary Industry Skills with strands in Agriculture and Horticulture.

We have an opportunity for an Agriculture and Horticulture resource writing superstar to be part of our journey. We also have a similar opportunity for a Leadership (level 3) content writer. This independent contracting opportunity is for approximately 3-6 months and we’d love someone to start ASAP. 

The project involves creating classroom-based resources for tutors and learners, including lesson plans, worksheets, handouts, and literacy and numeracy-based activities. Draft assessments may be required as appropriate.

In this role, you will be:

  • Developing lesson plans, learner content for workbooks and supplementary resources for the Agriculture and Horticulture strands of the Level 2 Certificate in Primary Industry Skills programme
  • Developing innovative resources which embed technology and numeracy and literacy to complement our highly engaging teaching practice methods
  • Having input into the review and analysis of feedback from stakeholders and making suggestions for change to the Learning Design & Delivery Manager

Qualifications

About you:

Besides being a team player is who able to inspire our tutors and meet industry and student need, building rapport with a range of people comes easy to you. You will also have:

  • Proven and demonstrable skills in writing high-quality paper-based learning materials and resources
  • An understanding of adult learning, programme development, design and NZQA processes
  • An understanding of the Primary Industries sectors, particularly in agriculture/horticulture highly preferred
  • An eye for detail ensuring content work is error free and of the utmost quality for our learners
  • A high level of interpersonal skills for collaborative research with staff, Subject Matter Experts, and stakeholders
