Human Resources Business Partner

Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior HR Business Partner to serve as a strategic partner to leadership across our cross-border resource base. With a workforce spanning Brazil, Canada, India, Israel, Philippines, South Africa, and the United States, this role manages the full HR lifecycle across all entities.

This is a "builder" role: you will manage everything from workforce planning and talent acquisition to performance, compensation, and employee relations. You will be expected to design the systems and governance needed to operate consistently across diverse jurisdictions while remaining hands-on in execution.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Support

  • Workforce Planning: Partner with executive leaders to translate business strategy into org structures and capability roadmaps.
  • Advisory: Provide guidance on performance management and organizational design; surface risks and tradeoffs to executive leads rather than simply executing requests.
  • Data Analytics: Analyze people data (attrition, time-to-hire, comp ratios, engagement) to diagnose issues and prioritize HR interventions.

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Full-Cycle Hiring: Own end-to-end recruitment: role definition, benchmarking, sourcing, interview design, and offer construction.
  • Total Rewards: Maintain a compensation benchmarking framework that balances internal parity, market data, and cross-border cost differentials.
  • Classification: Own contractor vs. employee classification decisions across jurisdictions in partnership with Finance and Legal.

Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Retention: Lead engagement measurement (surveys, listening sessions) and drive interventions to improve morale and retention.
  • Cohesion: Act as a cultural ambassador, strengthening cross-entity cohesion despite geographic and cultural distances.

Learning & Development

  • Upskilling: Identify training needs and coordinate opportunities for skill-building and career growth.
  • Succession: Build and maintain succession plans for critical roles across all global entities.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Global Governance: Own harmonized HR policies and build repeatable, auditable processes for cross-border payroll, onboarding, and offboarding.
  • Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to employment laws across all jurisdictions and industry standards.
  • Employee Relations: Coach managers on performance conversations and manage ER cases (grievances, disciplinaries) with procedural rigor specific to each country.
  • Tech Stack: Own the HRIS, ATS, and performance tools, ensuring 100% data integrity for headcount and people-cost records.

Work Requirements

  • 100% Remote: Work from anywhere.
  • Equipment: Must have a personal computer and essential workstation equipment.
  • Connectivity: Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet, professional work environment.
  • Resiliency: Load-shedding backup (if applicable to your region) is required to ensure consistent uptime.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field (Honors degree advantageous).
  • Experience: 3–5 years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in an HRBP or strategic role.
  • Jurisdiction Knowledge: Demonstrated experience across multiple jurisdictions (minimum two of: South Africa, Philippines, Canada, United States).
  • Skills: Strong influence and communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-growth environment.
  • Mindset: Proactive, solutions-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a remote setting.

Preferred:

  • Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM, CIPD, SABPP).
  • Experience in a multi-entity or holding-company structure.
  • Exposure to BPO, services, or distributed workforce models.
  • Familiarity with Asana, QuickBooks, and modern HRIS platforms.

Success in the First 12 Months

  • Month 3: Complete a full audit of current HR state across all entities (contracts, policies, compliance) with a prioritized remediation plan.
  • Month 6: Operationalize a compensation benchmarking framework and harmonized onboarding/offboarding processes.
  • Month 12: Complete a full performance management cycle across all entities and launch a live HR metrics dashboard.

Perks & Benefits

  • Competitive salary and paid time off.
  • Fully remote, flexible work culture.
  • Professional development and training opportunities.
  • Collaborative marketing and sales environment.
  • Be part of a fast-growing, mission-driven company.
