Job Title: Key Account Analyst

Location: Remote/Hybrid - USA

Reports to: Manager, Ops Analytics 

Department Name: Account Management

Job Types: Full Time, Exempt

Position Summary

The Key Account Analyst is responsible for providing data-driven insights and operational support for customer accounts. This role partners with internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy and efficiency across operational processes.

The Analyst supports the management of operational data related to site profiles, vendor and customer rates, customer billing, and invoice vouchering. This position identifies errors or discrepancies, investigates root causes, and recommends process improvements and solutions.

The Key Account Analyst serves as a key contributor to cross-functional collaboration, promoting accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the Operations function.

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities

  • Support a dedicated channel for sustainability-focused customers, ensuring high standards of data accuracy and integrity across the end-to-end billing lifecycle (statement through audit).
  • Accurately assign charges to customer statements and proactively investigate and resolve discrepancies identified through corrective line item reviews.
  • Prepare, review, and audit billing statements to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timely processing.
  • Own and resolve billing-related escalations by partnering cross-functionally to drive timely and effective solutions.
  • Identify reporting requirements and design, develop, and enhance recurring (weekly/monthly) reports to deliver actionable business insights.
  • Analyze and synthesize complex data sets; communicate findings and deliver recommendations that drive cost savings, operational efficiency, and process improvements.
  • Conduct trend analysis to identify patterns, surface risks, and determine root causes of variances or issues.
  • Document, standardize, and continuously improve reporting methodologies and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders, sharing knowledge, best practices, and subject matter expertise to strengthen overall team performance.
  • Travel and/or work onsite as needed, up to approximately 5% annually.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This job has indirect leadership supervisory responsibilities - this role includes indirect oversight and guidance of team members, supporting workflow coordination, mentoring, and ensuring adherence to processes without direct managerial authority.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. 2+ years of relevant experience in business, and data project management.
  • In lieu of a degree, 5+ years of relevant experience in in business, and data project management.
  •  Strong experience in financial and operational modeling.
  •  Collaborative, adaptable, and highly responsive to a fast-changing environment.
  •  Proficient in advanced Excel formulas (Pivot Tables, reporting and building dashboards, charting/visualizations, etc.).
  •  Strong operational, analytical, and technical skills.
  •  Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  •  Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of program management.
  •  Ability to synthesize large amounts of data into snapshots appropriate for senior management use
  •  A proactive, can-do attitude with a willingness to take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion.
  •  Ability to work independently while also being a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
  •  Discretion and trustworthiness in handling sensitive information and supporting high-level strategic initiatives.

  • Ability to perform tasks that require sustained attention and focus.
  • Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds.
  • Travel to attend team meetings may be required.
  • To facilitate working from home, and as a requirement for this role, the employee must provide reliable internet connection with sufficient bandwidth to execute all job functions and technology setup conducive to remote work. The company laptop will be provided.
  • A quiet, distraction-free workspace is required for maintaining productivity.
  • Collaboration with team members may occur through virtual meetings and communication platforms.
