Sr. Growth Marketing Manager

Job description

The Opportunity

Tonic.ai is a fast-growing, Series B company operating at the critical intersection of data privacy and AI agents. Our newest product, Tonic Fabricate, has reached a major inflection point: $0 to $50k in recurring revenue and 1000+ MAUs in its first 30 days.

This is a Product-Led Growth play. We aren't looking for a traditional Demand Gen manager to run ads or events; we’ve unlocked high-velocity product pull among AI engineers, and now we need a growth architect to own the strategy of the self-serve engine that scales it.

The Role

As our Sr. Growth Marketing Manager, your campaigns will live inside the product. You’ll be the owner of the end-to-end self-serve journey, from the moment a user signs up to their first "Aha!" moment, through to monetization and enterprise expansion. You sit at the center of Marketing, Product, and Engineering, acting as a technical strategist who uses product data to drive user behavior.

If you are obsessed with onboarding friction, usage-based triggers, and the sales bridge between self-serve and enterprise, this is your role.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the Self-Serve Roadmap: You’ll translate revenue goals into a prioritized backlog of in-product experiments, testing pricing gates, credit-based systems, and "swipe-to-pay" pathways.

  • Master the Onboarding Flow: You’ll define the "Aha!" moment for Tonic Fabricate and build the in-app checklists, tooltips, and activation triggers that ensure technical users find value in their first session.

  • Instrument the Sales Bridge: You will identify the high-intent signals that define a Product Qualified Lead. You’ll architect the hand-off that alerts our sales team when a developer at a Fortune 500 company has reached critical usage depth.

  • Product-Led Expansion: Identify and implement viral product features, such as team invitations or shared workspaces, to drive bottom-up growth within large organizations.

  • Usage-Based Retention: Map customer cohorts and build automated, data-driven triggers (email, in-app, Slack notifications) that move users from trial to habit formation to expansion.

What We’re Looking For

  • PLG Native: 4+ years of growth experience specifically within self-service SaaS or developer-first tools. You think in terms of activation rates and time to value, not MQLs.

  • AI-Native Data Fluency: You are a power user of LLMs to perform cohort analysis, funnel deep-dives, and translate raw product data into GTM strategy. You pull your own insights from Amplitude, Mixpanel, or PostHog.

  • Developer Persona Alignment: You understand that engineers hate traditional marketing. You know how to build a user journey that prioritizes utility, documentation, and immediate product value.

  • Creative Hustle: You are a builder at heart. You don't wait for a brand agency; you spin up your own experiments, test copy, and do unscalable things to find what works.

  • AI-Forward Mindset: You leverage AI to implement exponential efficiency in your own workflow and the user journeys you build.

Why Tonic.ai?

  • Impact: You will be the primary architect of the PLG playbook for our newest product.

  • Autonomy: We value a "bias for action." You will have the freedom to experiment, fail fast, and double down on winning growth loops.

  • Culture: We value intellectual curiosity, grounded data strategy, and the 0-1 builder spirit.
