Girl Guides of Canada is actively seeking an Operations Support Coordinator 

 (Contract to August 31, 2026, with possibility to extend 1 year based on budget approvals)

 Remote working opportunity

 Must reside in British Columbia or Alberta

 

 

 

About This Opportunity

 

Reporting to the Regional Manager BC-AB-NWT-YT, in this role, you will support the effective delivery of operational services across Areas by promoting consistency, ensuring compliance, and equipping Area volunteers with the tools and guidance needed to succeed.

Position Specifics

 

In this role you will:


General Area-wide Support

  • Serve as a central point of contact for operational inquiries and updates
  • Support governance inquiries 
  • Attend designated Area Council meetings as determined by the Regional Manager
  • Coordinate Cookie program information collection and compliance tracking
  • Provide reporting on Cookies to multiple provincial levels and the National team
  • Manage Area cookie surplus requests and monitor inventory
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve issues and maintain smooth operations
  • Monitor processes and identify opportunities for improvement in operational workflows
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Volunteer Support

  • Liaise with Advisers and key volunteers regarding marketing and communications submissions and requests, camps and events, and other initiatives
  • Process Guidepost and other communication material
  • Manage cookie-related communications to support nation-wide processes
  • Provide general support to Trip Units

 

Finance and Fund Development

  • Assist with Area budgets, compliance requirements, and financial reporting
  • Support the integration of Area budgets into Provincial and National Budget processes
  • Provide support for Unified Banking issues and troubleshooting
  • Track, reconcile, and review P-Cards 
  • Support and strengthen provincial processes for donations and grants to ensure compliance and efficiency
  • Track and file all grants and donations, reporting requirements, compliance information

Requirements:


  • Related degree or diploma (Business Administration, Volunteer Management) or equivalent work experience. 
  • 2+ years’ experience working in a remote and/or hybrid environment, leading projects and small teams.
  • Demonstrated computer software proficiency with MS Office, intermediate to advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Effective planning and time management 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to foster strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Critical thinking 
  • Detail oriented
  • Adaptable 
  • Experience of working with participants from diverse backgrounds and/or with special needsβ€―β€―

 

Starting Hourly Rate: $27.58/hour (based on annual salary of $50,200)
