The Origami Developer is responsible for the technical implementation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of the Origami Risk platform. This role combines software development, data engineering, and business analysis to ensure the system effectively supports client-specific insurance, risk management, and compliance workflows.
Key Responsibilities
System Configuration: Customize the Origami Risk platform by developing incident forms, claim layouts, dashboards, and automated workflows/actions.
Data Migration & ETL: Design and implement data transformation and migration processes to move complex claims and policy data from legacy systems (such as Duck Creek and Guidewire) into Origami.
Integration Development: Build, enhance, and support APIs and system integrations connecting Origami with third-party insurance systems and external data providers.
SQL Development: Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and scripts for data mapping, reporting, validation, and database integrity.
Requirement Translation: Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to convert functional insurance requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Agile Delivery: Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint-based delivery across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven hands-on experience with the Origami Risk platform (mandatory).
Strong proficiency in C#, SQL, and JavaScript.
Experience working with web technologies including XML, JSON, HTML, and CSS.
Solid experience with SQL Server and version control tools such as GitHub.
Experience with API development and testing tools (e.g., Postman, Newman).
Good understanding of data migration, ETL processes, and system integration concepts.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLC processes.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Experience with insurance platforms such as Guidewire or Duck Creek.
Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) and CI/CD pipelines.
3+ years of experience in Insurance Technology (InsurTech) or Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS).
Experience in a client-facing or consulting role, delivering solutions for enterprise-scale projects.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
