Essential Job Functions: The incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Inventory & Supply Management (Direct-to-Hospital Model):

  • Directly accountable for maintaining in-stock levels across veterinary hospitals by driving SKU/location-level replenishment and allocation strategies.
  • Manage SKU/location baseline and promotional lift forecasts across hospital demand.
  • Execute replenishment strategies within a direct-to-hospital vendor fulfillment model, where all product is shipped from vendors directly to hospitals (no Distribution Center inventory ownership).
  • Proactively manage inventory strategies to support promotional, financial, assortment transitions, and clinical demand needs.

Forecasting & Demand Planning:

  • Develop and manage baseline and event-based demand forecasts, incorporating seasonality, promotions, and hospital-specific consumption patterns.
  • Partner with Merchandise Planning and clinical/business stakeholders to align on promotional strategies, expected lift, and required inventory support.

Vendor & Supply Chain Collaboration:

  • Collaborate closely with vendors to ensure service levels, fill rates, and lead times support hospital operations and patient care.
  • Serve as the primary Inventory Management contact for assigned vendors, ensuring strong alignment on service, lead times, and order execution.
  • Lead and coordinate Collaborative Planning, Forecasting, and Replenishment (CPFR) processes with key vendors.
  • Review and analyze vendor SKU performance to achieve service, inventory, and financial goals.

Performance & Operational Excellence:

  • Accountable for achieving key metrics including in-stock levels, inventory productivity, inventory turnover, and Inventory Management Return on Investment (IMROI).
  • Identify and resolve inventory opportunities and constraints across the vendor-to-hospital supply chain to improve service levels and reduce disruption to hospital operations.
  • Perform root cause analysis using exception reporting to drive continuous improvement in forecast accuracy and inventory outcomes.

Cross-Functional Partnership:

  • Partner with Merchandising, Planning, Clinical Operations, and Hospital teams to align inventory strategies with business and patient care goals.
  • Communicate effectively with hospital partners to ensure alignment on inventory strategies and execution.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships to drive results and influence outcomes without direct authority.

Strategy & Execution:

  • Drive business results through data-driven decision-making and cross-functional strategy development.
  • Balance strategic thinking with tactical execution to meet short- and long-term objectives.
  • Prioritize effectively and manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Development & Training:

  • Achieve and maintain required system and tool proficiencies.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to expand knowledge of veterinary operations, inventory management, and supply chain best practices.
  • Actively participate in personal development planning.
