Paid & SEO Search Marketing Specialist

Type: Permanent, Full-time
We are working with a well-established digital marketing business to recruit a Search
Marketing Specialist to join their growing delivery team.
This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role, ideal for someone who enjoys executing SEO and
PPC strategies, improving performance over time, and using data to drive meaningful
optimisation across multiple accounts.

The Role
As a Search Marketing Specialist, you will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery and
optimisation of SEO and paid search activity across a portfolio of client websites. Working
within a collaborative, cross-functional team structure, you’ll focus on accurate execution,
continuous improvement, and translating insight into action.
Performance is measured by quality of delivery, efficiency, and demonstrable improvements
in search visibility and results.

Key Responsibilities
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
● Deliver ongoing SEO activity across multiple websites
● Implement technical SEO recommendations in collaboration with web and
development teams
● Carry out on-page optimisation, including metadata, internal linking and content
improvements
● Conduct keyword research, intent mapping and content optimisation
● Monitor rankings, traffic and engagement, identifying opportunities for growth

Paid Search (PPC)
● Build, manage and optimise Google Ads campaigns aligned to agreed objectives

● Improve performance through continual testing of keywords, ad copy, audiences and
landing pages
● Monitor budgets, bids and campaign efficiency to maximise return
● Align paid search activity with organic search and wider digital campaigns

AI-Optimised & Generative Search (AIO / GEO)
● Apply AI-optimisation and generative search principles to SEO and content delivery
● Support optimisation for AI-driven search experiences and answer-based discovery
● Stay up to date with developments in AI-influenced search and feed insights into
delivery

Data, Reporting & Insight
● Monitor performance using GA4, Google Search Console and advertising platforms
● Track agreed KPIs and proactively highlight risks and opportunities
● Provide clear, actionable performance insight to internal stakeholders
● Use data to inform prioritisation and optimisation decisions

Collaboration & Delivery
● Work closely with content, web and client-facing teams
● Deliver agreed actions on time and to a consistently high standard
● Contribute search insight to planning and optimisation discussions
● Support improvements to processes, documentation and ways of working

Skills & Experience
Essential:
● Proven hands-on experience delivering both SEO and PPC
● Strong working knowledge of Google Ads, GA4 and Google Search Console

● Understanding of modern search behaviour, including AI-influenced results
● Ability to manage multiple priorities across different accounts
● High attention to detail and pride in delivery quality

Desirable:
● Agency-side experience, particularly within B2C environments
● Experience working within cross-functional or pod-style teams
● Familiarity with technical SEO and website platforms
● Understanding of CRO and landing page optimisation
