Job Role: Estimator

Compensation range: $1,500 AUD - $1,800 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: A residential-focused design and construction team delivering tailored new builds and thoughtful space transformations. With a strong emphasis on quality workmanship, efficient project management, and a reliable in-house team, projects are completed to a high standard while staying on schedule and within budget.

Role Overview: This role is responsible for producing highly accurate, detailed cost estimates for custom, high-end residential projects. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, ensuring all quantities, pricing, and scope elements are thoroughly reviewed and aligned to avoid costly errors. By carefully analyzing plans, identifying risks, and validating all inputs, the Estimator plays a critical role in delivering reliable budgets and supporting smooth project execution from pre-construction through to build.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and bills of quantities based on architectural, structural, and engineering drawings
• Analyze plans, specifications, and scopes to identify risks, discrepancies, and missing information prior to pricing
• Develop trade-based costings, including materials, labor, and subcontractor scopes
• Source, evaluate, and compare supplier and subcontractor quotes
• Identify value engineering opportunities while maintaining design integrity
• Support tender submissions with clear inclusions, exclusions, and supporting documentation
• Maintain and update cost databases and pricing benchmarks
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure feasibility, accuracy, and alignment with project timelines

Requirements

• Proven experience in custom/high-end residential construction estimating
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings
• Proficiency in tools such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam, and Excel (Constructor is a plus)
• Reliable, self-managed, and committed to long-term growth
