The Purchasing Manager V leads the Purchasing team and is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring products and services for ZincFive. This role works collaboratively with different departments to ensure the organizationβs supply chain aligns with the business needs and customer requirements. The Purchasing Manager V will interface with various departments to provide all materials and services needed for ongoing product development and new product launches. This position may be performed remotely or at ZincFive headquarters in Tualatin, Oregon and reports to the Director of Supply Chain.
Purchasing Manager V Job Duties:
- Drive and manage procurement process with collaboration between multidisciplinary teams to meet deadlines, budget, and on time delivery
- Prepare purchase orders and maintains purchasing records
- Research and evaluate potential suppliers to determine if they have a favorable price, quality, and speed of delivery
- Provide support for inter-departmental and executive data request
- Establish backup supply sources wherever feasible
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors for favorable conditions
- Ensure vendors meet the terms and conditions of their contract
- Create RFQβs, supplier agreements, shopping carts, purchase requests and POs as needed
- Work to establish vendor account/credit and extended payment terms
- Comply with corporate safety and business ethics guidelines
- Manage material forecasting and budgeting
- Identify and capitalize continuously cost savings opportunities
- Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers, stay informed about market conditions, pricing trends and new products
- Build and maintain positive, long-term supplier relations
- Lead, manage, mentor, and develop team members
- Oversee the daily workflow and schedules of the department
- Draft, explain, and implement instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing
- Other duties as determined and assigned
Job Requirements:
- Bachelorβs degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, or equivalent years of experience
- 15+ years of experience in materials management, purchasing, and planning
- Experienced supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to effectively train others
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet, ERP Systems
- Strong technical understanding of supply chain business, manufacturing process, DFx, (design for manufacturability, design for assembly, and design for cost)
- Proven negotiation skills
- Proven ability to interact professionally with all levels of corporate personnel and external suppliers
- Proficient in project planning to manage and track procurement process
- Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Must possess strong work ethic and be customer service centric
- Ability to work independently under general supervision
- Ability to travel both domestically and internationally
- Ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders
Preferred Experience/Skills:
- Masterβs degree in Business Management or Supply Chain
- Inventory Control
- Understanding of General Accounting Principals
- Understanding of Business and Management Principals
- Comprehend how databases and ERP systems function
- BOM, BOO, and PM Creation/Design
- Background working in a manufacturing company
- Custom/duty knowledge and experience is highly preferred
- Experience in SAP or other ERP systems
