Roles & Responsibilities

  • Experience underwriting, producing, and retaining profitable excess casualty business, including complex accounts and construction-related lines (wrap-ups, project specifics, owners' interest).
  • Ability to manage a high-volume flow of new and renewal accounts within the division's guidelines and appetite.
  • Strong relationship management and sales skills with wholesale brokers, including marketing Ambridge Excess Casualty products.
  • Collaborative team player who participates in meetings, workshops, and cross-functional activities across a national underwriting team.

Requirements:

  • Produce, underwrite, and retain profitable excess casualty business across diverse accounts (tough products, habitational, commercial contractors, hospitality, and other casualty lines; plus excess construction projects).
  • Handle an impactful flow of new and renewal accounts within division guidelines and appetite, including wrap-ups and owners' interest for medium-large construction projects.
  • Market Ambridge Excess Casualty products and strengthen wholesale broker relationships.
  • Support SVP's workflow while developing and managing independent production channels as part of a national team.

Excess Casualty AVP

AVP reports directly to Senior Vice President (SVP) – Excess Casualty and will balance supporting SVP’s workflow with developing and managing independent production channels. Working as part of a team of experienced underwriters and underwriting assistants across the country.  VP will be a contributing team player and willing participant in meetings, workshops and events.

Responsible for producing, underwriting and retaining profitable business for the company. Effectively handle an impactful flow of new and renewal accounts within division’s guidelines and appetite, including tough products, habitational, commercial contractors, hospitality and other miscellaneous casualty; additionally excess construction project business including wrap-ups, project specifics, and owners interest for medium-large commercial and residential construction projects.

Marketing Ambridge Excess Casualty products, developing and strengthening wholesale broker relationships.
