Project Quality Lead

Location: Middleton, Lancashire, United Kingdom

Role Overview We are looking for an experienced and motivated Project Quality Lead to join our team for a major GIS high-voltage (HV) infrastructure project based in Lancaster. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the project team throughout the entire process, from concept to commissioning. The ideal applicant will have a robust background in HV environments, demonstrate outstanding attention to detail, possess strong leadership abilities, and communicate effectively with diverse teams. Adaptability, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to quality assurance are fundamental for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that quality-related project activities and services are efficiently implemented by contractors on construction sites, meeting the specific quality requirements of the project.

• Prepare and review Project Quality Plans and associated manufacturing and site documents.

• Prepare and review Inspection and Test Plans in collaboration with subject matter experts.

• Promote continuous improvement by sharing your expertise through training and regular coaching, including ongoing communication with project management, site managers, internal specialist departments, document controllers, and specialist managers from the customer.

• Ensure that construction site organisation and subcontractors comply with both project and Linxon quality requirements.

• Facilitate testing activities on the construction site in accordance with the project quality plan.

• Identify non-conformances and ensure effective resolution.

• Participate in mitigating negative impacts on the project and contribute to developing and implementing effective solutions.

• Support the project teams with customer complaints and help develop effective solutions.

• Drive continuous improvement by sharing knowledge through training and regular coaching.

Qualifications

• Relevant professional experience with HV substation projects and construction sites of varying size and complexity.

• Previous experience working with National Grid.

• In-depth knowledge of quality assurance and quality control. • ISO 9001 Internal Auditor qualification.

• Strong IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office and document management.

• Health and Safety (H&S) experience is advantageous.

• Ability to identify and resolve problems proactively and build positive relationships with customers and suppliers.

• Communicate messages clearly and coherently, displaying assertiveness as required for the role.

• Complete assigned tasks with initiative, flexibility, perseverance, and strict adherence to the Linxon Code of Conduct.

• Maintain an overview, remain calm, and act in a solution-oriented manner, even when faced with challenges.
