The Director of US Payer Marketing will lead the development and execution of payer strategies supporting the VYVGART franchise and late-stage pipeline assets. This role is responsible for ensuring optimal access, reimbursement, and value positioning in an increasingly complex and evolving US payer landscape. The individual will serve as a strategic partner across Market Access, HCP and Patient Experience communities, Medical Affairs, HEOR, and Field Teams to deliver aligned, data-driven payer engagement strategies that maximize patient access for argenx portfolio of products.
Core Capabilities
- Deep understanding of the US payer landscape, including commercial plans, Medicare/Medicaid, PBMs, and evolving policy environment.
- A strong understanding of channel operations and distribution dynamics and the impact to patient access
- Demonstrated ability to navigate and adapt to changing payer dynamics, including increasing access restrictions and cost-containment pressures.
- Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate complex payer dynamics into actionable plans.
- Expertise in developing payer value narratives and access strategies supported by clinical and economic evidence.
- Excellent cross-functional leadership and communication skills.
- Strong, proven ability to lead without authority.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the US payer marketing strategy for VYVGART and pipeline assets, aligned to brand objectives and lifecycle stage.
- Continuously assess the evolving payer landscape (e.g., consolidation, utilization management trends, value-based care models, IRA implications) and translate insights into actionable strategies in collaboration with other community members
- Anticipate access challenges and proactively design solutions that balance clinical differentiation, economic value, and payer needs.
- Serve as the payer voice communicate with internal argenx stakeholders, integrating insights from national and regional plans, PBMs, IDNs, and government payers.
- Lead development of differentiated payer value narrative grounded in clinical, economic, and real-world evidence.
- Lead development of PIE narrative to ensure appropriate, early engagement.
- Partner with Market Access community, HEOR, and Medical colleagues to translate evidence into compelling, payer-relevant tools (AMCP dossiers, budget impact models, value narrative presentations, and other critical tools ).
- Ensure consistency and alignment of payer messaging across current VYVGART franchise and other late stage pipeline assets, adapting to evolving evidence and competitive dynamics.
Access & Reimbursement Strategy
- Close collaboration with FRM/FAS, and Channel Strategy teams to define coverage, coding, and reimbursement strategies that support optimal patient access across commercial and government channels in close collaboration with Field Reimbursement team and leadership.
- Work closely with Market Access Account Directors and other community members to Identify and address access barriers, including step edits, prior authorizations, and site-of-care restrictions and then develop tools to mitigate those barriers.
- Respond quickly and with urgency to field requests relative to tools and solutions to streamline and expedite
- Lead early payer strategy development for late-stage pipeline assets, including payer segmentation, evidence planning, and pre-launch engagement.
- Develop launch access strategies that reflect increasing payer scrutiny and demand for value demonstration at launch.
Cross-Functional Collaboration/Leadership
- Partner closely with Field Market Access, Account Management, and XFT to ensure effective pull-through of payer strategies.
- Develop and lead payer advisory boards with key external stakeholders
- Collaborate with Payer MSL teams Medical to ensure any communications to payers ladder up to our core argenx access strategies.
- Work with Legal, Compliance, and Regulatory to ensure all materials and strategies meet argenx compliance and medical review requirements.
- Drive innovative approaches to payer materials and lean into digital and innovative solutions to upskill and build out the payer marketing community.
- Strategic agility and forward-thinking mindset in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, MPH, PharmD, or advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech industry with 5-7 years with strong focus on Market Access and Payer Marketing.
- Proven track record supporting specialty or rare/orphan disease products, ideally in immunology, neurology, or biologics.
- Buy and Bill experience required
- Experience with both inline brands and pipeline/launch assets

For applicants in the United States: The annual base salary hiring range for this position is $200,000.00 - $275,000.00 USD. This range reflects our good faith estimate at the time of posting. Individual compensation is determined using objective, inclusive, and job-related criteria such as relevant experience, skills, demonstrated competencies and internal equity. This means actual pay may differ from the posted range when justified by these factors. Because market conditions evolve, pay ranges are reviewed regularly and may be adjusted to remain aligned with external benchmarks.
This job is eligible to participate in our short-term and long-term incentive programs, subject to the terms and conditions of those plans and applicable policies.
