This is a remote position.

Job Description

As a Freelance Product Cost Optimization Project Coordinator, you will lead component validation and optimization projects to ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards across the full product lifecycle. Acting as the central interface between cross-functional teams—including Marketing, Design, Development, Quality, Purchasing, Logistics, and external suppliers—you will define technical specifications and guide design decisions while balancing multiple constraints. You will oversee project execution from early development phases through industrialization, ensuring adherence to quality, cost, and timeline commitments. In addition, you will proactively identify risks, implement mitigation and improvement plans, and provide regular reporting on project progress. Your role will also include facilitating feedback sessions to drive continuous improvement and supporting a culture of collaboration, safety, and environmental responsibility.

Important

The position requires on-site presence and flexibility for several-week assignments both in Baden-Württemberg, Germany and in Solothurn, Switzerland.

Requirements

Completed Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent
Proven experience in project management and quality (including risk analysis)
Strong technical knowledge in mechanics, electronics, materials, and physical measurements
Ability to define solutions and manage processes within a complex, cross-functional environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to align and motivate diverse teams
Experience working with suppliers and external partners
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
High level of organization, precision, and autonomy
Good understanding of industrial environments and product/marketing dynamics
Professional proficiency in English (required) and German (preferred)
