Job description

This is a remote position.

Our client is looking for a Medical Virtual Assistant to support their growing healthcare operations with a strong focus on patient communication and administrative coordination. They operate in the healthcare services space and have steadily expanded their impact by improving patient access and operational efficiency in recent years.

This role is ideal for someone who is organized, empathetic, and comfortable handling both patient-facing interactions and backend administrative tasks. The right candidate will play a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations while maintaining a high level of care and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Manage patient intake processes, ensuring accurate and complete information collection
  • Conduct patient follow-ups to maintain engagement and continuity of care
  • Perform outbound calls to healthcare providers for coordination and information gathering
  • Handle insurance-related documentation, including credentialing processes
  • Update and maintain patient records within the EHR system
  • Provide general administrative support as needed to assist daily operations


Requirements

  • Experience in healthcare administrative support or similar roles
  • Strong communication skills, especially in patient-facing scenarios
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

  • Previous experience with patient intake, insurance processes, or medical admin tasks
  • Familiarity with EHR systems (Athena experience is a plus)
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace tools
  • Experience with communication tools such as OpenPhone or similar
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • A proactive mindset and willingness to learn
