Job Description
The Strategic Finance Associate is a high-impact role responsible for performing the complex financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting required to drive enterprise value creation at USACS. Working closely with the VP of Strategic & Corporate Finance and the CFO, the Strategic Finance Associate will provide the analytical support and strategic thinking that informs capital deployment, corporate strategy, capital markets strategy, and operational optimization. The role also ensures the discipline, transparency, and accuracy of enterprise financial processes in a dynamic, physician-led healthcare organization.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Serve as a strategic finance thought partner to the VP and CFO, influencing enterprise strategy, capital allocation, and shareholder value creation.
- Build, maintain, and evolve long-range financial and valuation models to inform strategic planning, business cases, and capital structure decisions.
- Assist in preparation of Board- and investor-facing materials, including quarterly performance reviews, capital deployment updates, and long-term planning presentations.
- Partner with the VP and CFO on capital markets activities such as refinancing, equity raises, and bondholder reporting.
- Drive scenario modeling, sensitivity analyses, and financial simulations to guide key business and financing decisions.
- Assist in high level forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis processes, ensuring alignment between divisional operations and corporate goals.
- Assist in annual budget and multi-year strategic planning cycles, balancing near-term performance with long-term value creation.
- Develop analytical frameworks and predictive models that improve accuracy, accountability, and resource optimization.
- Support business leaders to evaluate growth initiatives, new service lines, and partnership opportunities through ROI, payback, and risk analyses.
- Support M&A and business development through valuation modeling, due diligence, and post-acquisition integration planning.
- Evaluate and implement process improvements and automation across forecasting, reporting, and performance tracking.
- Assist the VP and CFO in enterprise valuation, investment prioritization, and long-term liquidity planning.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Mastery of financial modeling, valuation, forecasting, and capital structure management.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights for executives, physicians, and investors through thoughtful presentations.
- Strategic and analytical thinker who can anticipate trends and recommend proactive financial strategies.
- Strong desire to evolve into a leader within the organization with an interest in influencing at all levels, including the Board, lenders, and external partners.
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills.
- Understanding of capital markets, corporate finance principles, and healthcare business dynamics.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial systems (e.g., Workday Adaptive, Hyperion, or equivalent).
- Integrity, intellectual curiosity, and resilience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of progressive experience in finance, with demonstrated success in investment banking or private equity.
- Experience with Board-level reporting, long-range planning, and capital markets or M&A activity strongly preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Regularly required to sit for prolonged periods; occasional walking, standing, bending, or lifting up to 15 pounds.
- Close visual acuity required for analytical and modeling work.
- Occasional travel required, typically once per quarter but could evolve.
Salary Range:
$90,347.00 - $167,142.00
Salary may be determined on several factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, experience, education, geographical location and requirements stated in job description.
