Join Alecto as an early engineer to fix the UK’s broken £2.5bn conveyancing market. You will lead a vertical-specific team with P&L accountability, shipping agentic AI workflows that navigate complex legal processes. Working directly with the founder who scaled Gen H to £1bn in lending, you'll shape product direction from day one.

What you will do:

• Design and deploy agentic AI workflows and LLM-powered systems using a modern stack including TypeScript, React, tRPC, Inngest, and GCP.

• Collaborate directly with users to define product hypotheses and translate fuzzy requirements into high-impact features that solve real-world legal friction.

• Take full ownership of outcomes by fixing systemic problems, refining AI workflows, and contributing to a high-craft engineering culture with monthly performance reviews.

The ideal candidate:

• Proven experience at high-growth or early-stage startups with a track record of driving product direction and scaling complex TypeScript projects.

• Deep technical instinct for building beyond simple prompts, ideally with experience in machine learning or deploying sophisticated AI agents into production.

• A relentless, low-ego problem solver who thinks in terms of user problems rather than tickets and thrives in environments of high ambiguity and autonomy.
