Job description

Job Description:

Amazing Career Moments Happen Here

Transforming the insurance industry is ambitious, we know. That’s why at Applied, we’re building a team that shows up every day ready to learn, willing to try new things, and driven to deliver innovative software and services that make us indispensable to our customers – all within a culture built on values that make us indispensable to each other too. With 40+ years of experience in the Insurtech game, we’re not just redefining what’s achievable; we’re creating a place where amazing career moments are made possible.

Position Overview

We’re searching for a Lead Product Insights Analyst to join our Product Operations team and play a pivotal role at the intersection of product strategy, data, and business performance. In this highly visible role, you'll be the analytical voice of our product organization, transforming user behavior, market trends, and business metrics into actionable insights that shape product roadmap priorities, customer experience, and go-to-market strategy. Partnering closely with Product, Engineering, UX, and Marketing teams, you'll own the end-to-end analytics lifecycle—from defining key questions and measurement frameworks to delivering compelling recommendations that drive alignment and decision-making. As a senior individual contributor within our Product Operations team, you'll help build a culture where data informs what we build, not just how we measure success. This is an exciting opportunity for a naturally curious, strategic thinker who thrives in ambiguous, fast-paced SaaS environments and enjoys influencing outcomes through both analytical rigor and impactful storytelling.

To keep us headed in the right direction, we’re looking for people who understand winning is a team sport, who value and seek to learn from our team’s diverse experiences and backgrounds, who welcome a challenge and take risks in the pursuit of creating better outcomes for our customers, and who can, at any given time, step back to laugh and have some fun.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead end-to-end product analytics by defining metrics, designing measurement frameworks, and delivering actionable insights that inform product strategy and business decisions.
  • Analyze user behavior and product performance to identify adoption trends, engagement drivers, retention opportunities, friction points, and areas for product improvement.
  • Partner with Product Management, UX, and Engineering teams to establish success metrics, embed instrumentation requirements into feature development, and measure outcomes after launch.
  • Develop and maintain self-service analytics solutions including dashboards, reporting, and KPI frameworks that provide real-time visibility into product health and business performance.
  • Translate product data into strategic recommendations by combining usage insights, market intelligence, competitive trends, and customer research to influence roadmap priorities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to connect product outcomes with business results, partnering with Go-to-Market, Commercial Analytics, and Data Engineering teams to link product usage, customer value, retention, and revenue impact.
  • Communicate complex findings to diverse audiences by synthesizing data from multiple sources, proactively identifying emerging risks and opportunities, and delivering clear recommendations to executive and cross-functional stakeholders.

We’re Excited to Learn More About You

Your experience may include:

  • 10+ years of experience in product analytics, business intelligence, or a closely related data role – ideally in a B2B SaaS environment with exposure to complex, multi-product platforms.
  • Expert-level SQL skills; proficiency with a BI visualization tool (Tableau strongly preferred) and the ability to build production-grade dashboards stakeholders actually use; strong Excel skills for ad-hoc modeling and fast-turn analyses.
  • Hands-on experience with a product analytics platform (Pendo strongly preferred)
  • Strong grounding in statistical analysis and data interpretation – you can size a problem, identify the right methodology, and communicate findings with appropriate rigor.
  • Familiarity with a modern cloud data warehouse (GCP/BigQuery, Snowflake, or similar) and a working level of AI literacy – you use AI tools to work faster and smarter, not just as a novelty.
  • Ability to synthesize competitive and market data alongside internal product data – you know how to bring external context into product strategy conversations, not just report internal metrics.
  • Comfort with ambiguity: you can scope an ill-defined problem, identify the right analytical approach, and deliver a clear answer under deadline.
