​Looking for Filipino (Philippines-based) candidates

Job Role: Carpentry Estimator

Compensation range: $1,500-$2,000 AUD / Monthly 

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: Aligned with Australian business hours (approx. 9am–5pm AEST, Monday–Friday) for collaboration.  As an independent contractor, you manage your time management of tasks within these hours whilst remaining conscious of deadlines and time sensitive tasks. 

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: The client is a commercial carpentry company based in Victoria, Australia. We specialise in delivering high-quality, large scale carpentry packages for leading commercial builders across sectors including medical, education, community centres and sporting clubs

Role Overview: 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Estimator. This role will focus initially on carpentry take-offs and quantity estimation for mainly commercial but also some residential projects, with the opportunity to grow into a broader estimating and pricing role over time. They will work closely with our operations manager to prepare accurate take-offs, assist with tender submissions, and help ensure our pricing is competitive and profitable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation
  • Complete detailed carpentry take-offs (labour & materials)
  • Measure quantities from plans using estimating software
  • Identify and break down scopes into clear, structured cost components
  • Assist in preparing tender documentation and submissions (in long term)
  • Identify missing information, inconsistencies, or risks in documentation
  • Maintain organised and accurate estimating records
  • Work within company templates and pricing systems
  • Communicate clearly with our internal team regarding progress and queries

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in construction estimating or quantity surveying
  • Experience with take-offs for carpentry or structural trades
  • Proficiency in take-off software (e.g. PlanSwift or similar)
  • Strong Excel / spreadsheet skills
  • Ability to work with Australian drawings and standards

Work Setup

  • Reliable computer, headset, and availability during agreed hours
  • Professional home setup supporting security and confidentiality

Work Arrangement & Expectations:

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.

To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Be available for meetings and collaboration during core AEST  business hours.
