  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel skills) and a solid understanding of cosmetic testing processes and documentation requirements.

Position Overview:

The R&D Testing and Document Control Manager serves as the critical link between internal innovation and external validation. You will oversee the lifecycle of product testing, from sample submission to final report analysis, while maintaining a gold-standard digital documentation library. This role is designed for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, remote environment and possesses the technical "sixth sense" to anticipate risks before they impact the supply chain.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all third-party and contract manufacturer testing (stability, compatibility, PET, heavy metals, microbiological, and regulatory testing).
  • Prepare and submit testing requests and coordinate sample shipments and testing timelines.
  • Proactively follow up with labs and manufacturers on testing status and final reports.
  • Review and analyze testing reports for compliance, accuracy, and product specifications.
  • Identify and escalate out-of-spec results or potential risks to cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain detailed Excel-based testing trackers and status reports.
  • Organize, upload, and manage R&D documentation in Google Drive/SharePoint with strict version control.
  • Maintain records including stability data, COAs, ingredient lists, and technical/formulation documents.
  • Manage and maintain the ingredient library, documenting supporting technical literature and safety data with proper version control.
  • Ensure all files are audit-ready, accurate, and easily retrievable.
  • Support cross-functional collaboration and continuously improve documentation and testing workflows.
  • Ability to work remotely in a highly computer-based role requiring extensive documentation, email communication, and follow-ups.
  • Comfortable working at a computer for extended periods while managing multiple trackers and reports.
  • Strong ability to stay organized, responsive, and detail-oriented in a fast-paced remote environment.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional document organization and version control skills.
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and follow-up skills.
  • Working knowledge of cosmetic testing protocols and understanding cosmetic R&D and product development workflows.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience reviewing, managing, and analyzing cosmetic testing reports (stability, PET, compatibility, heavy metals, etc.), with the ability to identify and escalate potential risks or compliance issues.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Biology, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in cosmetic R&D, Quality, or document control within the beauty/personal care industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel skills) and a solid understanding of cosmetic testing processes and documentation requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (oral, written, non-verbal, intuitive, psychic et al)
