The Opportunity

Mountain Valley Express is seeking a detail-oriented and solutions-driven EDI Analyst to support and enhance our electronic data interchange (EDI) processes. This role is critical in ensuring seamless communication between our internal systems and external partners, including customers, vendors, and third-party logistics providers. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, a process-improvement mindset, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced transportation environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and support all EDI transactions, including setup, testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Maintain and optimize EDI integrations with customers, carriers, and vendors (e.g., 204, 210, 214, 990 transactions)
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Operations, Billing, Collections, Customer Service, IT) to resolve EDI-related issues
  • Analyze EDI errors and implement corrective actions to ensure data accuracy and timeliness
  • Work with external partners to onboard new EDI connections and maintain existing relationships
  • Monitor EDI system performance and proactively identify opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and maintain documentation for EDI processes, mappings, and workflows
  • Support system upgrades, implementations, and process automation initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and company data integrity requirements


Skills & Attributes

  • Knowledge of EDI standards (ANSI X12) and transportation transactions (204, 210, 214, 990)
  • Experience with EDI platforms (CLI) and mapping tools
  • Experience with API, WinSCP, and Microsoft Azure Logic Apps
  • Strong data analysis and troubleshooting skills (SQL preferred)
  • Understanding of system integrations and file transfer protocols (FTP, SFTP, AS2)
  • Familiarity with TMS/ERP systems (CLI) in transportation or logistics
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Requirements

  

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2–5+ years of experience working with EDI systems, preferably in transportation, logistics, or LTL environments
  • Strong understanding of EDI standards such as ANSI X12 (knowledge of transportation sets highly preferred)
  • Experience with EDI mapping tools and platforms (e.g., Cleo, SPS Commerce, TrueCommerce, or similar)
  • Proficiency in data analysis and troubleshooting (SQL or similar tools preferred)
  • Familiarity with TMS systems and integration processes is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 20-25 pounds.
  • Ability to navigate each department and the company’s facilities as needed.
