Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with strong expertise in dbt and AWS-based data platforms.

  • Design, develop, and maintain data transformation pipelines using dbt.
  • Build reusable and scalable logic using Jinja and dbt macros.
  • Work extensively with dbt configurations, project structure, and parameterization.
  • Implement and optimize dbt materializations (incremental, snapshot, table, view, ephemeral).
  • Define and maintain data models aligned with business requirements.
  • Apply data quality checks and testing strategies using dbt and relevant packages.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data transformation and pipeline issues.
  • Contribute to best practices in data modeling and dbt development.

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with dbt (Core and/or Cloud) â€“ 3+ years
  • Deep understanding of dbt internals:
    • project configuration (e.g. dbt_project.yml, profiles)
    • variables, parameters, environments
    • macros and Jinja templating
  • Experience working within AWS ecosystem.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Nice-to-have Skills: 

  • Experience with Amazon Redshift.
  • Familiarity with Data Vault modeling concepts.
  • Experience with orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow / MWAA).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Git workflows.
  • Exposure to data observability tools (e.g. dbt packages, monitoring tools).
