Job Title: Technical Manager, Broadcast Solutions
Location: Basingstoke (min. 3 days/week)
The Technical Manager, reporting directly to the Operations Director, plays a crucial role in overseeing the technical systems and processes integral to the Products and Service deliveries of Broadcast Solutions. The role encompasses the management and implementation of robust processes, systems and technologies across the Broadcast Solutions department, while driving future advancements.
Manage technical processes within Broadcast Solutions, ensuring positive contribution to the continuous growth and implementation of the Products.
Own Technical reporting in/out of Operations; issue/ticket logging, tracking, management, resolution etc; ensuring operational tech issues are triaged via appropriate operational investigation before passing downstream into Product.
Work with QC to manage software releases across Broadcast Solutions clients.
Develop and maintain technical standards and training across the business area.
Provide effective leadership, management and clear direction to the technical team, leveraging existing experience to proactively drive initiatives, and ensuring a positive culture and working practices.
Own UK test rig setup and maintenance, and management of resource allocation across Engineering, Product & QA/QC.
Collaborate with Product, Engineering & TechOps functions to introduce new technologies and develop our existing systems in alignment with identified roadmaps.
Lead by example across Broadcast Solutions, setting high technical standards, fostering enthusiasm and a positive culture across all technical areas and beyond;
Contribute to commercial processes, providing technical knowledge and client integration support at appropriate stages.
Drive technical knowledge sharing across Broadcast Solutions, ensure regular updates across the team and coaching/training.
Management of the RMA process with suppliers for Broadcast Solutions
Ensure adherence to technical standards, protocols, and best practices across the department (including business IT policies and standards).
Line-management responsibilities;
Excellent depth of Replay technical knowledge, Replay-based systems and their applications across the Hawk-Eye business;
Success in taking ownership of service delivery, projects, and processes;
Proactive approaches to problem solving, troubleshooting, service/systems improvement;
Effective leadership, teamwork and collaboration skills;
Excellent and highly effective communication skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at any level;
Experience working in Broadcast environments and a thorough understanding/visibility of broadcast/production workflows.
A strong understanding of SDI, ST 2110 & NMOS is essential.
