Job description

College Tech-Ops Coordinator

  • Location: Atlanta, GA (with travel to Chicago and across the US)

  • Department: Service Operations – College Sports

  • Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

  • Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 per year, plus bonus

What the Job is All About

At Hawk-Eye, we don’t just record the game; we define it. As our College Tech-Ops Coordinator, you will be at the heart of our collegiate football delivery. You’ll ensure the seamless operation of our SMARTReplay systems, directly impacting the fairness and excitement of the game for teams, officials, and fans alike.

During the high-octane football season, you’ll be the frontline support for our wider team, ensuring every play is captured and every technical hurdle is cleared. In the off-season, you’ll shift gears into "innovation mode"—investigating technical issues, refining software rollout schedules, and supporting new technical deliveries across the country.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Live Operations: Stepping into the booth or the truck to support collegiate football delivery and other sports as projects dictate.

  • Technical Ownership: Handling high-level escalations and performing hands-on investigations into technical issues during the season.

  • System Integrity: Maintaining our technical ecosystem and ensuring systems are "match-ready" at all times.

  • Product Evolution: Assisting with software testing and rollout schedules, providing the feedback loop between the field and our developers.

  • On-Site Impact: Traveling for one-off events, system certifications, and installation trips to ensure our technology is gold-standard.

Why You’re the Right Fit

We aren’t just looking for a list of skills; we’re looking for a mindset. You’ll thrive here if you have:

  • A Technical Foundation: A strong grounding in tech (professional, academic, or just a dedicated hobbyist). A STEM degree is a plus, but tangible experience counts for more.

  • Problem-Solving: You don't just see a bug; you see a puzzle. You’re proactive and stay cool when the clock is ticking in a live sport environment.

  • Communication Skills: You can talk shop with engineers and talk strategy with clients, always maintaining professional excellence.

  • Adaptability: If you haven't used SMARTReplay before, you have a proven track record of mastering proprietary software at lightning speed.

The Logistics

This role follows the rhythm of the sport:

  • In-Season: Tuesday – Saturday (approx. 9am–6pm on non-game days, with variable shifts for live ops).

  • Off-Season: Monday – Friday (approx. 9am–6pm) with occasional weekend support.

  • Base: You’ll be based in Atlanta, but you should have your bags packed for frequent travel to Chicago during the season and other iconic sporting venues across the US.
