The Opportunity:
The VP, Disputes Strategy & Engagement is a senior executive role responsible for shaping and advancing Velera’s disputes strategy narrative, roadmap and market presence. This executive owns how disputes strategy is shaped, prioritized, articulated and understood by senior leadership and externally by clients and industry stakeholders. This role provides strategic direction across disputes and strategy, engagement programs and industry positioning functions with support for broader operational, marketing and communication efforts aligned to Disputes Operations and Industry Service. This leader translates complex operational capabilities into clear, compelling strategies and messages for executives, clients and industry audiences. This role oversees strategic planning, client & industry engagement programs and disputes-related thought leadership. The VP will ensure alignment between strategic priorities, roadmap execution and external messaging.
Day in the Life:
Own and lead the enterprise disputes strategy and multi-year roadmap, ensuring alignment with Velera’s broader business priorities, client needs and market dynamics.
Partner with Dispute Operations, Client Experience, Product, Industry Services and Technology leaders to translate strategy into clear, sequenced initiatives.
Provide executive level guidance on prioritization, trade-offs and long-term capability development.
Represent Velera as a senior disputes thought leader in client meetings, executive briefing and industry forums.
Serve as the executive owner of disputes and other operational strategy messaging, ensuring clarity, consistency and impact across internal and external audiences.
Develop and oversee executive-ready PowerPoint presentations for senior leadership, clients, board-level discussions and industry forums.
Translate complex operating models, data and strategy into compelling narratives that resonate with executive audiences.
Partner with Sales, Client Growth and Marketing teams to support high-impact client engagement and pursuits.
Monitor industry trends, regulatory shifts and emerging dispute practices to inform strategy and messaging.
Lead and develop high-performing teams responsible for strategy, engagement and industry positioning.
Establish clear strategic direction, operating rhythms and performance expectations aligned to enterprise outcomes.

Education:
Bachelors degree in Business, Management, Marketing or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years experience in enterprise strategy, consuling, financial services.
Proven success operating at the VP or executive level, influencing stratgy and outcomes across organizations.
Exceptional executive communication and PowerPoint skills with demonstrategy ability to tell clear, persuasive stories.
Proven engagement with executive leadership to deliver meaningful organizational and process change.
Ability to manage innovation and seize opportunities to create new and radical alternatives to traditional methods and approaches.
Experience with financial analysis, risk management, and/or regulatory compliance.
Experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively at all levels of the organization.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Strong influencing, networking, and critical thinking skills to build and foster existing consultative relationships that drive alignment and partnership opportunities.
Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats to executives and leaders at all levels

Develop and maintain staff by applying the necessary training and leadership that will allow internal growth and advancement
Direct staff, to ensure that all duties are performed according to department performance standards

Pay Equity
