Location: This is a remote, Europe-based position supporting a global Salesforce user base.

Summary of Position:

The Salesforce Administrator is a key technical resource supporting IES Abroad’s global Salesforce instance. This role is responsible for administering and supporting Salesforce functionality by executing configuration, support, and enhancement work assigned by the Salesforce Product Owner & Support Manager.

The Salesforce Administrator works as part of a distributed Salesforce administration team in collaboration with U.S.-based Salesforce Administrators and Support roles through a shared ticketing and work management system. This role operates within a continuous, cross-time-zone operating model that enables efficient global Salesforce support and delivery.

The Salesforce Administrator must understand business processes across multiple functional areas and translate operational needs into effective Salesforce solutions that align with the overall Salesforce product strategy and platform standards.

Based on evolving business priorities, the Salesforce Administrator will assume responsibilities across the following roles:

  • Product Support (Helpdesk)

  • Business Analysis

  • Platform Administration

  • Quality Assurance

  • Project Coordination

  • Vendor Relationship Liaison

  • End User Training

The Salesforce Administrator acts as a trusted partner to IES Abroad's global stakeholders while supporting the broader Salesforce roadmap.

Essential Job Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Execute Salesforce administrative, configuration, and support tasks as directed by the Salesforce Product Owner and Support Manager

  • Perform core Salesforce administrative functions including user and license management, page layouts, validation rules, reports, dashboards, and automations

  • Install, configure, and maintain approved AppExchange applications as required

  • Develop and modify reports and dashboards to meet the needs of global stakeholders

  • Participate in testing activities for Salesforce releases and internal changes, including executing test cases and documenting results

  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation for Salesforce configurations, processes, and operational procedures

  • Design and deliver training materials or sessions for end users to increase Salesforce adoption and effectiveness

  • Ensure all work adheres to IES Abroad’s Salesforce Security Model, including proper configuration of roles, profiles, permission sets, organization-wide defaults, and sharing rules

  • Collaborate with U.S.-based Salesforce Administrators to provide responsive support to IES Abroad’s global Salesforce user base

  • Diagnose and resolve Salesforce support requests and incidents through a ticketing system

  • Analyze, document, and refine business requirements

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, data quality, and user experience within Salesforce

  • Participate in projects and initiatives as assigned, including cross-functional and cross-regional efforts

  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance as an essential function of the position

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Experience & Qualifications/Skills:

Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years of Salesforce Administrator experience

  • Strong understanding of Salesforce core functionality and platform best practices

  • Experience building and maintaining custom objects, fields, reports, dashboards, flows, and automations of moderate complexity

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Ability to work independently while taking direction and prioritization from a product owner or manager

  • Experience working with ticketing systems and structured work intake processes

  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across time zones and cultures

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting Salesforce in a global or multi-region environment

  • Experience in nonprofit, education, or mission-driven organizations

  • Experience supporting Salesforce Education Cloud, CPQ, and/or Marketing Cloud

Education, Licenses and/or Certifications, etc.:

  • University degree in business, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

  • Salesforce Certified Administrator strongly preferred

  • Salesforce Certified Nonprofit Cloud Consultant preferred
