Position Summary...
As a Senior Buyer –ACS Fragrance, HBA, Optical, and Seasonal, you will own the strategy and execution for alternatively sourced products that drive growth across multiple merchandise categories. You’ll identify market opportunities, build high-impact supplier partnerships, and deliver trend-right, high-quality items to our members.
This role is about more than buying product. It’s about influencing and driving category strategy, strengthening competitive positioning, and delivering measurable business results that improve member value. You’ll work cross-functionally with merchandising partners to unlock new buying opportunities when direct brand relationships aren’t available, ensuring we continue to deliver style, quality, and affordability at scale. This position is located in Bentonville, AR, and relocation to the area is required.
About the team:
Our team drives alternative sourcing strategies across Apparel, Home, Fragrance, Beauty, Optical, and Seasonal categories. We focus on procuring high-quality, trend-aligned products when direct brand partnerships are unavailable. By managing supplier relationships, category plans, and pricing strategies, the team supports Walmart’s mission to help members save money and live better. Collaborating cross-functionally, the team ensures effective execution of business plans and maintains strong vendor partnerships. This role requires expertise in vendor management, category management, supplier relationship management, price negotiation, budgeting, and merchandising to deliver value and meet customer needs efficiently.
What you'll do...
- Develop and execute buying strategies for high-impact categories, identifying alternative supply opportunities that support brand and item strategy.
- Drive category growth by leading planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis across multimillion-dollar businesses that influence multiple P&Ls.
- Identify and capitalize on emerging trends ensuring our assortment stays relevant, competitive, and member-focused.
- Build and influence strategic supplier partnerships, negotiating terms and establishing relationships that create long-term value and innovation.
- Translate data into action, using performance insights to refine assortment, pricing, and flow strategies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with merchants across categories to align sourcing solutions with broader merchandising strategies.
- Strengthen competitive positioning by maintaining a deep understanding of the marketplace and identifying opportunities to differentiate.
What you'll bring: - Experience managing a multimillion-dollar business impacting multiple category P&Ls.
- Strong knowledge of buying, financial and flow planning, brand strategy, and price positioning.
- Deep familiarity with fragrance, beauty, optical and seasonal trends, with the ability to anticipate what’s next.
- Proven ability to analyze data, identify performance trends, and convert insights into strategic decisions.
- Demonstrated success influencing suppliers and cross-functional partners at all levels.
- Experience navigating complex sourcing environments, including omni-channel retail.
- Executive presence, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to lead through influence.
- A competitive, ownership-driven mindset with the agility to adapt to shifts in the business.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
Additional compensation for certain positions may also include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location).
