  • Collaborate cross-functionally with content, SEO, and account teams to align link-building efforts with broader marketing and client strategies

Job description

Ready to move beyond execution and help shape the strategy behind high-impact link building? Rankings.io helps law firms compete in some of the toughest search markets in the country. Off-site SEO is central to how we do that, and we're looking for an experienced Link Building Manager to help lead it.

This role sits directly alongside our Director of Link Building. You'll share ownership of strategy, keep campaigns running at a high standard, and help the team grow. It's a good fit for someone who has built real expertise in link acquisition, knows what separates a quality backlink from a risky one, and is ready to take on more than an execution role.

Key Responsibilities

Own and execute high-impact link-building strategies while driving outreach, partnerships, and campaign quality. This role blends hands-on execution with team leadership, requiring both strategic thinking and day-to-day collaboration across departments to deliver consistent, high-quality results.

  • Lead complex, high-priority link-building campaigns across:
    • Guest posting
    • Niche edits
    • Local sponsorships
    • Digital PR
    • Citations
    • Authority link acquisition
  • Conduct competitor backlink analysis to:
    • Identify strategic opportunities
    • Inform campaign direction
    • Maintain competitive positioning
  • Ensure all placements meet established quality standards
  • Build and maintain relationships with:
    • Publishers
    • Site owners
    • Journalists
  • Develop outreach messaging that drives responses and engagement
  • Cultivate long-term partnerships to generate consistent link opportunities
  • Mentor and support Link Building Specialists
  • Review campaigns to ensure quality, consistency, and performance
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new team members
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with:
    • Content team
    • SEO team
    • Account team
  • Align link-building efforts with broader marketing and client strategies

Requirements

  • 4 to 6 years of SEO experience with a strong focus on link building and off-site strategy
  • Demonstrated experience running outreach campaigns at scale
  • Solid understanding of backlink quality, anchor strategy, and Google's ranking factors
  • Proficiency with Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, GA4, and Google Search Console
  • Proficiency with link building tools such as Pitchbox, Buzzstream, etc a plus.
  • Experience mentoring or managing junior team members
  • Strong written communication skills, particularly in outreach and relationship building
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously
  • Agency experience preferred
  • Existing journalist relationships are a plus
