ABOUT THE ROLE

Adjunct Faculty - PCS: MFT – Program Clinical Supervisors (Practicum Instructors) Remote

Position Overview:

An adjunct Program Clinical Supervisor is a non-core faculty member who holds a short-term (contracted) position with the University with the primary responsibility of providing instruction within the MFT program. The program clinical supervisor’s primary responsibility is to provide MFT relational/systemic supervision to students of the program. The Program Clinical Supervisor is a clinical instructor with the professional identity of a marriage and family therapist. The clinical supervisor should hold a state established supervisor designation that includes relational/systemic supervision; or an AAMFT approved supervisor or AAMFT approved supervisor candidate designation; or a graduate course MFT relational/systemic supervision equivalent to three semester credit hours; or postgraduate professional education in MFT relational/systemic supervision of at least 30 clock hours.

  • Teach practicum courses, mentor, or supervise students.
  • Provide observational supervision in each practicum class.
  • Evaluate student practicum performance
  • Approve student supervision hours
  • Collaborating with faculty or staff for curriculum planning.
  • Utilizing specific technologies or tools (e.g., LMS, video platforms).
  • Attending required meetings, training, or development sessions.

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD, PsyD, DMFT, MA, or MS in Marriage & Family Therapy or a closely related field.
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and state supervisor eligible.
  • AAMFT Approved Supervisor; or 3-unit graduate course in MFT relational/systemic supervision; or 30-hour postgraduate education in MFT relational/systemic supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AAMFT-Approved Supervisor or AAMFT-Approved Candidate.
  • Relational/Systemic supervision course or postgraduate training.
  • Prior experience in collaborating with stakeholders in community-based, employer organizations.
  • Prior experience working with a diverse community.
  • At least one year of experience working with non-traditional students

Work Environment:

A remote adjunct work environment is a flexible, virtual setting where instructors deliver course content, engage with students, and fulfill academic responsibilities from a remote location. This environment typically relies on digital communication tools, learning management systems (LMS), and virtual collaboration platforms to facilitate teaching and interaction.

Compensation:

The following salary range reflects equivalent compensation paid for a 3-unit course and varies based on the faculty member’s hourly course assignment.

MFT Practicum Course - $45.00 per hour

Offers are determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to; geographical location, knowledge, skills, and experience.
