Position Summary:
The Senior Advisor, Strategic Intelligence (Health Systems Focus) supports the competitive intelligence (CI) function across The Cigna Group. This role is responsible for managing the collection, organization, and analysis of competitive and market data, translating insights into actionable, executive-ready intelligence that informs strategy, product development, and go-to-market decisions focused on hospitals and health systems to better enable partnerships across the Cigna Group.
Functions of the Job:
Lead CI research and analysis focused on health system, hospital, and provider-owned organization strategies, including pharmacy, specialty, site-of-care, and care delivery models.
Analyze health system market dynamics, competitive positioning, vertical integration strategies, and partnerships involving PBMs, specialty pharmacies, wholesalers, and life sciences companies.
Support internal stakeholders with targeted intelligence on health system needs, decision drivers, and purchasing behavior to inform product strategy and provider-facing offerings.
Partner cross-functionally with Strategy, Product, Clinical, Sales, and Provider Solutions teams to align intelligence outputs with health system growth and engagement priorities.
Own end-to-end intelligence cycles including hypothesis development, research design, structured analysis, and delivery of executive-ready insights tailored to provider audiences.
Conduct dissemination, analysis, and ad hoc modeling of competitor and health system financial information, including benchmarking and assessment of strategic implications.
Leverage AI and Copilot tools to accelerate provider-market research, automate synthesis, generate competitive profiles, and improve insight speed and accuracy.
Build repeatable frameworks, templates, and playbooks to scale health system–focused intelligence across The Cigna Group.
Serve as a thought leader on provider market trends, competitive intelligence best practices, and AI-enabled research methodologies.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in competitive intelligence, strategy, consulting, market insights, or a related field; healthcare experience required, with provider or health system exposure strongly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree highly preferred; Master’s degree a plus.
Demonstrated expertise using AI, Copilot, and advanced analytics tools to accelerate research, automate workflows, enhance synthesis, and scale intelligence outputs.
Experience designing or operating AI-enabled research processes (e.g., prompt engineering, knowledge management, synthesis automation) preferred.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex, ambiguous information into clear insights.
Familiarity with financial statements and provider economics.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing executive-ready deliverables.
Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across a matrixed organization.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
