Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis, ETL, and data warehousing, including experience with MS SQL Server and Microsoft BI stack (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, and Power BI).
  • Strong proficiency in SQL (MS SQL Server 2012+) and Python with libraries such as Pandas, PyODBC, and NumPy.
  • Experience with BI tools (Power BI) and data visualization; familiarity with ETL/ELT tooling (Fabric, dbt, Dagster, or Airflow) is highly desirable.

The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, constructing, and maintaining the systems and infrastructure required to process and analyze large volumes of data. This role will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure data is collected, stored, and processed efficiently. The Data Engineer will also develop and implement data pipelines, perform data quality checks, and 
optimize data storage and retrieval. 


 

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and maintain KPIs, metrics, and dashboards by leveraging diverse datasets.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity through data validation, cleansing, and error handling.
  • Design and implement back-end processes using data warehouse modeling techniques.
  • Build and optimize ELT pipelines to capture and transform data for analytics and reporting.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to gather and refine business requirements for data solutions.
  • Implement data security measures and access controls to protect sensitive information.
  • Automate and improve data processes and workflows for scalability and efficiency.
  • Develop, test, and maintain high-quality code in SQL, Python, Power BI Stack ( SQL Server, SSIS, and SSAS), Azure, dbt, Airflow or similar programming languages.
  • Distill problem definitions, models, and constraints from informal business requirements.
  • Monitor data infrastructure for performance and reliability to address issues promptly.
  • Participate in data governance and compliance efforts to meet regulatory requirements.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis, ETL, and data warehousing, including experience working with MS SQL Server database and Microsoft BI stack (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, and Power BI).
  • Ability to independently execute mid-level data engineering tasks with ownership of projects.
  • Ability to implement Data Warehouse modeling techniques to capture complex business requirements.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of scalable data solutions and streamline reporting.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, specifically with MS SQL Server 2012 and higher, and Python and libraries like Pandas, PyODBC, NumPy, is required.
  • Experience with BI tools (Power BI) and data visualization.
  • Experience using Fabric, dbt, Dagster or Airflow is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with BI/DW lifecycle including source data analysis, ETL, data-marts, reporting, dashboards and analytics.
  • Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
  • Experience with AGILE methodology, desirable.
  • Experience with Healthcare data not required, but highly desirable.
  • Bonus: Experience with healthcare data and Kimball methodology.
