Job description

NoSQL Database Administrator

Location: Remote, Raleigh, NC

Duration: 10 months

Overview:

Seeking for a Senior NoSQL Database Administrator to support the Property Engagement Platform (PEP), a mission-critical application utilizing AWS DynamoDB and DAX along with other NoSQL technologies. This role is vital for ensuring availability, performance, and operational consistency for latency-sensitive and high-throughput workloads.

Responsibilities:

Manage operational support and lifecycle for DynamoDB and DAX environments.
Collaborate with PEP teams to design and validate data models and access patterns.
Plan and manage DynamoDB capacity, including cost optimization strategies.
Support DAX clusters, focusing on cache tuning and performance validation.
Design low-impact change and deployment strategies for NoSQL workloads.
Monitor environments using CloudWatch and Datadog, addressing performance issues.
Implement security controls, including IAM access and encryption policies.
Work with Cloud Engineering and DevOps teams to manage resources using Terraform.
Participate in incident response and on-call rotations.
Create operational documentation and best practices for NoSQL usage.
Advise on NoSQL vs relational database tradeoffs for application use cases.
