Roles & Responsibilities

  • 5–12 years of hands-on experience in Linux/Windows/VMware administration, G-Suite administration, and storage administration.
  • Experience with Linux server builds, Windows Server OS/Active Directory, VMware infrastructure administration, and AWS cloud (desirable).
  • Automation/configuration management experience with Chef/Puppet/Ansible and scripting skills (Shell, Python, Perl); familiarity with DNS, SMTP/IMAP/POP, and SFTP.
  • Experience with NAS/SAN storage management (NetApp/EMC/Pure), backups and data recovery (NetBackup), and on-call/24x7 support.

Requirements:

  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux and Windows systems, VMware, Citrix, and NAS/SAN infrastructure.
  • Design, deploy, and manage core infrastructure services and storage with emphasis on reliability and performance.
  • Provide 24/7/365 on-call support and work in US time zones as part of the operations rotation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and reduce mean time to recovery.

This is an excellent work from home opportunity for self driven, motivated Systems Engineers to be part of the Systems Engineering Team at IDT in an extended staffing model and provide 24/7/365 support for mission critical services.

Required Skills:
  • 5 to 12 years of real hands-on experience in Linux system/Windows/ VMWare administration, G-Suite administration and storage administration tasks and troubleshooting.
  • Candidates should not be limited to only one of the following but should have a combination of the following skills.
  • Experience with Linux server builds, administration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Microsoft server OS and Active Directory administrationVMWare infrastructure administration and configuration.
  • Experience with AWS cloud will be highly desirable.
  • Experience with RAS tools such as Citrix and Parallels RAS servers administrationExperience with G-Suite administration and setting up SSO with G-Suite and Active Directory.
  • Experience with building and managing high throughput database servers on Linux.
  • Familiarity with open source tools (Chef / puppet / ansible / kickstart) for automation, installation, monitoring and configuration management Configuration and management of DNS, Mail (SMTP, IMAP, POP), and SFTP services.
  • Good scripting skills with Shell, Perl, Python, etc.
  • Server backups and data recovery tools and technologies (NetBackup)
  • Experience with installation / patching of operating systems, application software
  • Deep knowledge of underlying hardware subsystems / technologies and troubleshooting experience.
  • Deep knowledge of storage subsystems and technologies.
  • NAS & SAN storage management with a focus on NetApp, EMC and Pure storage.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, must be able to interact within the team and other technical groupsF5 (DNS/Load Balancer) knowledge a plus.

  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Installation, configuration, maintenance, and trouble-shooting Linux / Windows based systems, VMWare, Citrix and NAS/SAN infrastructure.
  • Working in US time zones. Individuals are expected to be part of on-call rotation for 24/7/365 support.
