SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) Developer – Ariba Guided Buying & SAP Forms

Job Summary

The SAP BTP Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, customizing, and deploying SAP Forms used within SAP Ariba Guided Buying and related procurement workflows. This role supports the organization’s digital procurement strategy by extending SAP Ariba and SAP S/4HANA capabilities using SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) services and best practices.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with SAP Ariba Guided Buying, SAP Forms, and BTP-based integrations, and can collaborate with functional, security, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, compliant, and user-friendly procurement solutions.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Ariba Guided Buying & SAP Forms

•            Design, configure, customize, and deploy SAP Forms used in SAP Ariba Guided Buying for requisitions, approvals, and procurement workflows

•            Customize form logic, validations, dynamic fields, and user experience to align with business rules and compliance requirements

•            Support Guided Buying catalogs, request types, approval flows, and form-based data capture

•            Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Guided Buying forms, workflows, and integrations

SAP BTP Development & Integration

•            Develop and maintain extensions on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)

•            Build integrations between SAP Ariba, SAP S/4HANA, and third-party systems using:

o           SAP Integration Suite (CPI)

o           APIs, OData, REST, and SOAP services

•            Implement event-driven or workflow-based extensions using SAP Build Process Automation / Workflow Management

•            Ensure secure connectivity using destinations, OAuth, and SAP Identity services

Custom Development & Technical Design

•            Develop custom services, APIs, and applications using:

o           Java / Node.js

o           SAP CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model)

o           SAPUI5 / Fiori (as applicable)

•            Create technical design documents, integration mappings, and solution architecture diagrams

•            Follow SAP best practices for extensibility, clean core principles, and lifecycle management

Testing, Deployment & Support

•            Perform unit testing, integration testing, and UAT support for Guided Buying forms and BTP solutions

•            Deploy and manage applications across DEV, QA, and PROD environments

•            Provide post-deployment support, enhancements, and defect resolution

•            Participate in change management, transport management, and release planning

Collaboration & Governance

•            Work closely with:

o           SAP Ariba functional analysts

o           Procurement and business stakeholders

o           Security, compliance, and integration teams

•            Ensure solutions meet security, accessibility, audit, and compliance standards

•            Contribute to development standards, reusable components, and documentation

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

•            Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)

•            5-7+ years of SAP development experience, with hands-on SAP BTP exposure

•            Direct experience with SAP Ariba Guided Buying and SAP Forms is required

Technical Skills

•            SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)

•            SAP Ariba Guided Buying configuration and customization

•            SAP Forms (Guided Buying forms, validations, and workflows)

•            SAP Integration Suite (CPI)

•            REST/OData APIs and SAP integration patterns

•            Java or Node.js development

•            SAP CAP (preferred)

•            SAPUI5 / Fiori fundamentals (preferred)

•            Git-based version control and CI/CD concepts

•            Experience with SAP S/4HANA Procurement integration

•            Knowledge of SAP Build Apps / Process Automation

•            Familiarity with clean core and side-by-side extensibility strategies

•            Public sector, education, or regulated-industry SAP experience

•            Experience with accessibility (WCAG/ADA) and compliance requirements

•            SAP certifications (BTP, Ariba, Integration Suite, or S/4HANA)
