Roles & Responsibilities

Proficiency in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service — report building, dataset management, gateway configuration, and workspace administration

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Join a global technology services leader delivering large-scale digital transformation projects across multiple industries. This is a consulting engagement with an immediate start, integrated into a dynamic data & analytics practice working with enterprise-grade clients in the Retail sector.

PROJECT & CONTEXT

You'll be embedded in a data visualization workstream for a Retail sector client, responsible for connecting raw data processing pipelines with polished, self-service Business Intelligence capabilities in Power BI.

The environment is modern Azure-native — with data flowing through Azure Data Factory, structured in SSAS Tabular / Azure Analysis Services, and surfaced through Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service. You'll work closely with business users, translating requirements into clear, actionable dashboards and reports that drive real decisions at scale.

This is a hands-on senior role with direct stakeholder exposure — not a back-end-only position. Strong communication and the ability to manage end-user expectations are just as important as technical depth.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Power BI

Proficiency in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service — report building, dataset management, gateway configuration, and workspace administration
Strong command of DAX for calculated measures, KPIs, and complex aggregations

Data Modeling

Solid understanding of data modeling principles and dimensional design best practices
Hands-on experience with SSAS Tabular models and/or Azure Analysis Services

Data Warehousing & SQL

Working knowledge of SQL DW patterns — querying, transforming, and preparing data for consumption layers

Azure Data Stack

Experience with Azure DevOps and/or Azure Data Factory for pipeline management and deployment workflows
Familiarity with PowerShell scripting in Azure contexts

Soft Skills & Language

Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to engage directly with business users and translate requirements into visual solutions
English: B2 Upper-Intermediate minimum (working language with the client team)

NICE TO HAVE

Experience with Databricks — architecture, SQL notebooks, and data warehousing concepts within a Lakehouse pattern
Background in Retail sector data (sales, inventory, customer analytics)
Prior experience in consulting/nearshore delivery models with international clients
Portuguese language skills (not required, but a plus for internal collaboration)
