Enterprise Strategy
We conduct long-term strategic planning for the whole enterprise, and drive top management initiatives to develop new capabilities for GIC. This includes continuous improvement in the business architecture of the firm - how processes, people, technology and data are organised across departments and functions to deliver business outcomes.
What impact can you make in this role?
You will design and implement improvements to the business architecture of the firm, across a variety of functional areas, to help GIC be ready for the future.
What will you do as a VP/SVP, Enterprise Strategy?
- Design and Shape GIC’s Business Architecture
- Develop and continuously refine an enterprise-wide taxonomy of business capabilities.
- Lead structured deep-dives with senior stakeholders and subject-matter experts to design target-state business processes and functions.
- In areas prioritised for transformation, map current-state workflows and articulate strategic pathways from current to target state.
- Develop clear, high-quality Business Architecture artefacts (descriptions of business capabilities, processes, and functions).
- Ensure consistency and alignment of Business Architecture designs with GIC’s enterprise-wide strategic priorities.
- Partner with Senior Stakeholders and Subject-Matter Experts
- Convene and lead virtual project teams comprising senior stakeholders and SMEs to co-create target-state designs and generate actionable insights.
- Draw on internal expertise to assemble coherent and impactful Business Architecture outputs that are owned and endorsed by stakeholders in the business units or corporate functions.
- Influence and challenge stakeholders’ thinking to design superior, high-impact operating models.
- Enable Technology and Data Transformation
- Collaborate closely with the Technology Group to deliver Business Architecture artefacts that shape Technology and Data architecture decisions.
- Foster strong partnerships across Enterprise Strategy and Technology teams to integrate Business, Technology, and Data Architecture into a unified enterprise framework.
- Deliver Across Multiple Workstreams
- Manage several concurrent Business Architecture deep-dives, maintaining focus, prioritisation, and quality in a fast-paced, high-autonomy environment.
- Balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, ensuring timely delivery of insights and recommendations that enable enterprise transformation.
- Uphold rigorous standards of analysis, documentation, and stakeholder engagement across all workstreams.
- Drive Actionable Change
- Translate insights from Business Architecture analysis into actionable and high-impact recommendations for senior management. This could involve changes to processes, technology, data and/or organisation.
- Support top-level decision-making that may lead to new business capabilities, organisational restructuring, or process optimisation.
- Act as a catalyst for enterprise transformation, ensuring GIC’s business architecture evolves to meet future strategic and operational needs.
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
- Extensive Experience and Expertise
- Proven track record (typically 10–15 years) in business architecture, enterprise strategy, process engineering or organisational design within large, complex organisations.
- Strong understanding of business operating models, process design, and capability mapping.
- Experience in leading strategic transformation initiatives that integrate business, technology, and data perspectives
- Strategic and Analytical Thinking
- Exceptional ability to analyse complex business problems, synthesise insights, and develop actionable recommendations.
- Skilled in conceptualising target-state designs and articulating clear transformation pathways.
- Adept at connecting business architecture outcomes to broader organisational strategy and value creation.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Leadership
- Demonstrated ability to engage, influence, and collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders across multiple functions.
- Strong facilitation and communication skills, capable of leading discussions with C-level executives and subject-matter experts.
- Proven experience in managing cross-functional teams and driving alignment in high-autonomy, matrixed environments.
- Execution and Delivery Excellence
- Highly organised, able to manage multiple workstreams and deliver high-quality outputs under tight timelines.
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation and presentation skills, ensuring clarity and consistency in deliverables.
- Comfortable balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution.
- Technical and Methodological Acumen
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and business process modelling tools.
- Understanding of how business architecture informs technology and data architecture design.
- Awareness of emerging technologies (e.g., AI, automation, data analytics) and their implications for business transformation.
- Education and Professional Background
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
